BENTON COUNTY —A Missouri teen died in an accident just before 3:30a.m. Sunday in Benton County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Saturn Vue driven by a 17-year-old boy from Warsaw, Missouri was northbound on Jackson Avenue north of Penn Drive in Warsaw.
The Saturn traveled off the left side of the road, through a private drive and struck a parked 2002 Keystone Springdale camper.
A passenger in the Saturn identified as Anthony J. Birdsong, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported the teen driver to Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
