Michael Lee Harris Sr., 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 4, 2026, at his home in Savannah, Missouri, surrounded by loved ones.
Michael was born on September 13, 1944, in Atchison, Kansas, to Bryan and Naomi Harris. He attended school in the Atchison public school system. At just 13 years old, he met the love of his life, Linda (Bowen) Harris. The two were married on August 7, 1962, beginning a lifelong journey together filled with love, family, and cherished memories, grounded in faith.
Michael dedicated over 30 years of his life working as a welder at Atchison Casting. He was known for his strong work ethic, servant’s heart, and unwavering commitment to providing for his family.
Above all else, Michael loved his family and his Lord. He took great joy in spending time with his loved ones, especially supporting and watching his children and grandchildren in their sports and activities. He also enjoyed fishing, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, and relaxing with his favorite game shows.
Michael lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and quiet strength. His example of love, humility, and devotion will continue to live on through all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Harris; his daughters, Lucinda (Darryl) McAfee, Kathy Harris, Patricia Harris, and Jessica Harris; and his son, Gregory Harris. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph (Cindy) Gellings, Michael Paul Harris, Barbara Savage, Nina (Josh) Ostertag, Jacob (Heather) McAfee, Mikayla (Wesley) Holland, TJ Berry, Mack McAfee, Rachel (Amadee) Juneau, Kenneth Harris, Kasen Harris, Ensley Harris, and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Navinskey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Lee Harris Jr.; his grandson, Jeremy McAfee; and his brothers, Kenneth and Don Harris.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who know and loved him, but his family finds comfort in knowing he is at peace in the presence of the Lord.

He never missed a chance to show up for the people he loved, and that’s how he’ll always be remembered.
Graveside services will be held 1:00PM, Friday, April 10, 2026, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Atchison, Kansas, with Pastor Stephen Lucas officiating services. Memorials are suggested for final expenses and may be sent in care to Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, Kansas.
