Patty Lou Smith, 91, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at a local health care facility. She was born December 28, 1932 in Houston, TX, daughter of Helen and Gladys Earl Gustafson.
On April 22, 1955, she married Kenneth Smith. She was "Mother of our old Neighborhood" in N. Richland Hills, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth Sr., children, Cliff and Glenn Smith, stepfather, Tom Lindsey, and siblings, Gordon Earl Gustafson at age 7, Pearl Earlene Boone, and Cleo Irene Tozier, and grandson, Shane Anthony Smith.
She's survived by her children, Kenneth Smith Jr. and Wanda Smith, grandchildren, Charles, Danielle, and Katie Smith, and Bradley Shane Richardson, nieces and nephews, Sandra and Bobby Perdue, Tony and Tammy Ford, Loreene Ransbottom, Lynnda Tozier, and Jonathan Lipe. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the Rupp Funeral Home with Interment following at Mount Olive Cemetery, Troy, KS. Pastor Leanna VanZandt-Nauman, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home.
