Debbie Crane, 71, Atchison, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023. She was born October 3, 1951 in Nevada, Missouri.
Debbie married Ricky Lee Crane on December 14, 1984. In their earlier years, they enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting together. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2021.
She was the first patient at Providence Medical Center to undergo a deep brain stimulation procedure to ease her Parkinson’s disease, which did improve her quality of life for quite a few years.
Debbie loved to sew, making Halloween costumes and wedding dresses for her daughters, then later making blankets for her grandchildren. She was known for her cooking and baking, especially her hot rolls and other recreational “habits.”
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Rick; and parents, Robert Vantellman and Gilbert and Lela (Wilt) Connley.
Survivors include daughters, Carrie Evans (Dennis) and Jamie Lee (James); grandchildren, Walker Evans, Cheyenne Leonard (Payton), Weston Evans, Bailey Cushenberry, Wyler Evans (Ruthie Crocker), Shelby Heim, Sydney Elmore (Chris Acheson), Wagner Evans, Will Evans, Aaliyah Lee, Julia Lee, Patience Lee, and Derek Sunderman; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Evans; siblings, Kay Lawson (Dennis), Danny Vantellman, and Rodney Vantellman (Kim); other extended family members and friends.
