Steven Schultz, 73, of Troy, Kansas passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at his home.
Steve was born on December 24, 1950, in St. Joseph, Missouri to William “Bill” and Jo Ann (Grable) Schultz and raised up in Burr Oak.
He graduated from Wathena High School in 1968, then graduated NEK Vo Tech in Auto Mechanics. Steve farmed on his family farm until 1982. He worked for Davies Oil, drove a semi across the country and then worked for Doniphan County Road and Bridge for 28 years, retiring in 2020. The last three years he helped Meng Farms during Fall Harvest. The highlights of Steve’s life were sitting on his porch with his brother and friends, his motorcycle trip to the west coast with Tim Simpson, his family vacations to Nevis, Minnesota, watching westerns, and, most importantly, spending time with his beloved family. He loved BIG and was loved BIG! And he never liked goodbyes. He was a member of the Zion United Evangelical Church, Wathena, Kansas and his faith in Jesus lead him to his adopted church family and Sunday School class at the First Baptist Church in Troy, Kansas. Steve has been made well again and is basking in God’s beautiful peace. He will be missed until we see him again in the presence of our Lord.
Steve married Linda Shelton on May 31, 1974, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Fern and Vincent Shelton, niece, Heather Steeby and brothers-in-law, Dana Lopez and Mike Shelton.
Additional survivors include his children, Staci Prawl (Toby), Betsy Hinds (Keith),
Kari Winder (Jason), Emily Schultz (Jason Dougherty) and Brent Schultz (Bree).
Grandchildren, Lizzie Schultz (Dillon Elliott), Bryce Prawl, Quentin Schultz, Paige Hinds, Brylie Prawl, Eden Easter, Paisley Requena, Liam Winder, and Ellyana Bea Schultz.
4 legged companion, Moose Schultz.
Siblings, Ellen Steeby (George), Randy Schultz and Chris Schultz (Kim).
Sisters-in-law, Pat Clover (Mikel), Mary Lopez and Terri Shelton.
