Cindy Sue Morris passed peacefully at her home on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the age of 73.
Cindy was born on August 5, 1950 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the middle child of Jerry D. and Alice M. (Goodman) Sipes. She graduated from South Holt High School in 1968 and married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Gary Morris, on July 12, 1968. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage together. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother and father, and younger brother, Patrick. Her older brother, Michael, survives.
Cindy and Gary are the parents of two children, Colby Morris (wife Kathy) of Oregon, MO, and Lacey Adams (husband Joe) of St. Joseph, MO. She had six grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud: Reagan, Reese, and Tait Morris, and Cooper, Cash, and Magdalynn Adams.
Cindy held numerous jobs when her children were young, but she had always wanted to be a cosmetologist. In 1995 she graduated from the St. Joseph Beauty University and established Images Beauty Salon in Oregon, MO. While she enjoyed many pursuits, one of Cindy’s greatest passions was her children/grandchildren, and she enjoyed traveling to watch them participate in their various activities.
Cindy’s greatest passion, however, was her love of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Over the years, she was an active and devout member of three churches, Green Valley Baptist, Oregon Baptist, and most recently, Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church.
Family visitation will take place at Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, St. Joseph, MO., on January 6, 2024, at 10 AM with the funeral to follow at 11 AM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Cindy’s life. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Holt County Cancer Fund.
