Patricia "Pat" Lynn Gentry 81, of St. Joseph, MO., passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 in St. Joseph, MO. She was born November 29, 1941 in St. Joseph, MO. Pat graduated from Benton and worked for the St. Joseph School District Nutrition Service Department at Hyde Elementary for 20 years and Manager at Eugene Field School. Pat enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the former Hyde Valley United Methodist Church. Pat was preceded in death by husband Elmer Gentry in June 2023, her father, Lawson "Doc" Hurd, mother, Lois Maxine Young, step-father, Charles Young, brothers, Michael Lawson Hurd, Gary J. Hurd, and sister, Theresa "Terri" Hurd. Survivors include sons, Patrick (Debbie) Gentry, St. Joseph, MO, Tim (Esra) Gentry, Cherry Hills Village, CO., Elmer J.(Corie) Gentry, Frankfort, IL., daughter, Shelley (Rick) Berry, St. Joseph, MO, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 - 8:00 PM., Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home, Rev. John Welch officiating. The Interment will be at the Sparta Cemetery.
