Grant Eugene Speaks, 97, of Troy, Kansas passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, Kansas.
Grant was born on October 5, 1927, in Sparks, Kansas to John Terrance and Alice (Blanton) Speaks.
He graduated from Troy, High School after graduating he joined the U.S. Army, upon returning from the army he went to work for Pepsi Cola as a supervisor for 38 years. Grant was a member of the Troy Christian Church, Troy Masonic Lodge #55, Troy Lions Club, York Rite, Shriner’s and Troy American Legion Post #55.
Grant married Barbara Jean Thomas on October 16, 1948, in Atchison, Kansas. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2022. He was also preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, James Speaks, siblings, Mike Speaks, Addie Young, Virginia Clary, Alma Lee Reder and Johnny Speaks and son-in-law, Gary Blanton.
Survivors: Linda Blanton, Thomas (Anita) Speaks, Brenda (Larry) Turpin, David Speaks all of Troy, Kansas. Patricia (Keith) Ahlvers, Frankfort, Kansas. Twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 24, 2025.
At the Troy Christian Church, Troy, Kansas.
Visitation: 4-6 P.M. Sunday evening at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, Kansas.
Burial: Mount Olive Cemetery, Troy, Kansas.
