Jack Hontz, 71, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
He was born October 17, 1951 in Missouri to J.W. “Bill” and Fern (Cross) Hontz.
Jack married Vicki Nelson on July 12, 2004. She survives of the home.
Jack began a 30-year career at RS Electric Corp starting in 1993. While at RS Electric, he held multiple operational and leadership positions within the company, starting out as a service department manager, then General Manager, and ultimately becoming the President of RS Electric Corp. During his tenure as President of RS Electric Corp to date, Jack has been on the RS executive team in support of all the various entities and divisions of the company. He also served on the local electrical board.
Prior to his time at RS Electric, he spent 20 years working his way up to plant engineer at Sherwood Medical in Elwood, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bill Matlock.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki; son, Craig Hontz (April) of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Kristina Hontz of St. Joseph; five grandchildren; siblings, Tim Hontz, John Hontz and Jenny Hontz, all of Wathena, Kansas; two brothers-in-law, Don Evans, Wathena, Kansas, and Jeff Evans, Show Low, Arizona; numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends whom he considered to be family.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
