7 hospitalized after 3-vehicle Nodaway Co. crash

NODAWAY COUNTY —Seven people were injured in an accident just before 2p.m. Friday in Nodaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Ford Escape driven by Juliann S. Cruz, 19, College Springs, IA. was northbound on U.S. 71 at 250th Street just north of Maryville.

The Ford rear-ended a 2009 Dodge Journey driven by Angela M. Meese, 39, Bedford IA.,  who was stopped behind a 2017 Ford Explorer driven by Mary E. Metcalf, 68, Maryville, that had stopped to make a left turn.

Nodaway County EMS transported Cruz, Metcalf, Meese and passengers in the Dodge identified as Suzie Meese, 17; Bryant D. Youngs, 17; Aniah Meese, 20 and Anne M. Dunlap, 60, all of Bedford, Iowa, to Mosaic in Maryville. The driver and passengers in the Dodge were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
