Farrell Eugene Hiatt, 78, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
He was born August 4, 1947 in Trenton, MO, son of Elsie and Harrold Hiatt. Farrell graduated from Nodaway-Holt High School, class of 1965. Farrell retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 dedicated years working as a Field Calibration Technician and a Computer Test Station Technician. He was an avid reader, enjoyed sports, and loved attending concerts.
Farrell was preceded in death by father, Harrold E. Hiatt, mother and step-father, Elsie and Frank Hitchcock, son, David Frank Hiatt, and his wife, Alicia Hiatt.
Survivors include: daughter, Gidget Kemnow of Harriet, AR, brother, Clarence Hiatt of St Joseph, sister, Rebecca (Frank) Reiss of Weston, MO, granddaughters, Chelsey Turner, Samantha Ensminger, and Moiraine Kemnow, great-granddaughter, Isobel Ensminger, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Graveside Funeral Services with Navy Funeral Honors and Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Pastor Dave Mejia, officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to American Cancer Society.
