Theodore "Ted" Hughes Sr. 65, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 in St. Joseph. He was born May 3, 1958 in St. Joseph, son of Elizabeth (Cooper) and Richard Ginn. Thedore attended Lafayette High School. On March 27, 1993 he married Lisa Dysart in Moberly, MO. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, listening to music, and he loved his house plants.
Theodore was preceded in death by his daughter, Lakeshia Hughes, brother, Robert, sisters, Jenny, Darethia, Betty, Karen, Peaches, and Alice. Survivors include: his wife, Lisa Hughes of the home, his mother, Elizabeth Hughes, father, Richard Ginn, children, Airreanna, Doneshia, Shamika, Micha, Devontra, Dontane, Darrion, Nathaniel, Isaac, and Theodore "Ted" Jr., sisters, Brenda Wesley, Nancy Hughes, Gloria Cooper, Carolyn Hughes, Gayland Ginn, and Rosemary, brother, Johnny Hughes, 20 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hughes has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Rupp Funeral Home, where family will received friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday. Memorials are requested to the Ted Hughes Sr. Memorial Fund, c/o Rupp Funeral Home.
