It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Pflugradt on November 3, 2024, at the age of 77. David was born on March 27, 1947, in Agency Mo., to Andrew and Edna (Deets) Pflugradt.
David grew up and attended school in Weston Missouri. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966, achieving the rank of Sergeant. While stationed at Camp Pendleton California, he attended night classes at Saddleback College. During his time of selfless dedication to our country, he served two tours in the Vietnam War at the height of the conflict. He received several awards and decorations, most notably a Bronze Star with Valor and two Purple Hearts. After completing his duty, he returned to Weston Missouri working as an auto mechanic and farmer. His passion was agriculture, taking great pride in raising tobacco, row crops, and tending cattle. After retiring from farming, he worked for Weston Water District.
David was an outdoorsman; he grew up in fishing and hunting in the waters and woods around Platte County. He had a love for fast cars, four-wheel drive trucks, and motorcycles. Throughout the years he competed in drag racing and demolition derbies. His love ran deep for Harley Davidson motorcycles, continuing to ride well into his seventies. David could strike up a conversation with anybody, never meeting a stranger and creating many friendships. Everyone that knew David knew that he enjoyed spoiling the ones he loved. In 2015, he relocated to Bellevue Nebraska to be closer to his son’s family, making his purpose to spoil his granddaughter, Braelynn. He enjoyed taking her for walks or dining at her favorite restaurants. And of course, buying her favorite sweets and any toy she wished for.
David is preceded in death by parent his parents Andrew and Edna Pflugradt, brother Drew and sister Marsha Schnieder.
He is survived by sister’s Robin Allen, Susan Vallandingham, Amy Clary, and brother Doug. Son Bradley (Amber), daughter Jennifer, four grandchildren, and 10 nieces and nephews.
