Marie I. Ordnung, 91, Savannah, MO; passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at a local assisted living facility.
Marie was born on October 28, 1931 in Savannah, Missouri, to the late Jess and Louetta (Schmitt) DeVault. She was a 1949 graduate of Savannah High School.
After high school, Marie worked at Nichols Sanitorium, and later for various jobs in Savannah. After twenty plus years, she retired as an Andrew County Deputy Collector.
Marie was an active member of the Missouri Savannah United Methodist Church in Savannah, the P.E.O and Semper Fidelis. She will always be remembered for her hospitality, her love for cooking and was an avid sewer.
Marie married Reid Ordnung on October 31, 1951. They celebrated seventy-one years of marriage before his passing in 2022.
In addition to her husband and parents, Marie was preceded in death by her brother, Richard DeVault and son-in-law, John Yunker.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vintage Gardens and Freudenthal Hospice for the care they provided Marie.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Barbara Yunker; and son, Michael (Patti) Ordnung: grandchildren, Regina Yunker (Mike Rudnicki), Megan Yunker (Matt Higgins), Brett ( Elizabeth) Ordnung and Brennan Ordnung. Marie was proud to be a great-grandmother of Maxwell Rudnicki, Graham Higgins, Emmelyn Higgins, and Brooks Ordnung.
Mrs. Ordnung has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. Inurnment at the Savannah Cemetery will follow the service.
