The St. Joseph Health Department will hold its annual free flu shot clinic for residents of Buchanan County next week at the East Hills Shopping Center.

On September 24th, the St. Joseph Health Department will provide vaccinations at no out-of-pocket cost to eligible Buchanan County residents during the clinic, which will run from 10am to noon, or while supplies last, inside the east entrance near J.C. Penney at East Hills Shopping Center.  The clinic is open to Buchanan County residents age 19 and older.  Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding must provide a note from their physician or health care provider to receive a flu vaccination.

A drive-up vaccination option will be available for individuals with mobility issues.  Those using the drive-up option should follow the signage and directions provided at the event.  Those attending are encouraged to wear a shirt that provides easy access to the shoulder area.  Residents with insurance of any kind should bring their insurance card and identification.  Those without insurance also can receive the vaccine.

Due to staff participation in the flu clinic, clinic services, vital records, community health and environmental services will be unavailable at the health department on the day of the event.  Patee Market will remain open for WIC services, and typical programs at Stuber Health Center should not be impacted.  For more information on the flu vaccine or about the clinic, you can contact the St. Joseph Health Department.
