A St. Joseph man has been sentenced to 81 years in prison for committing statutory sodomy of a juvenile.
The Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office reports 44-year-old Dereck Heineman, Sr. had deviate sexual intercourse with a child under 12-years-old.
Buchanan County Circuit Judge Daniel Kellogg sentenced Heineman after hearing testimony from the victim’s parents and reviewing a victim impact statements, as well as hearing arguments from Assistant Prosecutor Andrew Parmenter.
