Norma Lee Edwards 1939 - 2025

Norma Lee (Howard) Edwards, 85 of Savannah, Mo. passed away Tuesday April 01, 2025 in St. Joseph, Mo.

Norma was born on August 28, 1939 in Savannah, Missouri to the late Norman and Doris (Shewmaker) Howard.

Norma graduated from Savannah High School class of 1957. Norma married James Edwards at the Savannah United Methodist Church on September 10,1962. They celebrated sixty years of marriage before his passing in September of 2022.

Norma attended Gard Business School. After school Norma worked for Swifts, then began a thirty four year career with Northwest Missouri Electric which later changed to United Electric Cooperative. Norma took great pride in her thirty four year career with the Cooperative, and always spoke of what her job meant to her as well as her co-workers.

After retirement Norma enjoyed traveling with Jim, and always had her eye out for a good antique store or sale. Norma took great pride in her antiques, and her friendships at the different antique stores she made throughout the years.

Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt; her family was her number one priority in life. She always made sure every need they had was met.

In addition to her parents and husband Norma was preceded in death by two brothers Paul D. Howard, and Donald E. Howard, niece Linda Schuman, nephew Mike Wandfludh, and one great nephew.

Norma is survived by her sons; Gary Dale (Ann) Edwards of Amazonia, Tim Edwards of Boone Iowa, brothers; Farrell (Carol) Howard, Gary (Janice) Howard, sister; Sharon (Dale) Howard all of Savannah. She is also survived by grandchildren; Kimberly (Josh) of Auroa Colorado, one Blaine Edwards and wife Maddison of Savannah and three great grandchildren. Norma is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she always took in and loved like her own. Along with a host of friends.

The family will receive friend 5:00 - 7:00 PM Friday at the Heaton~Bowman~Smith Savannah Chapel.

Funeral service 10:30 AM, Saturday also at our chapel followed by interment at the Whitesville Cemetery.
