Donald F. Bennett Jr., 71, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at his home. He was born May 5, 1952 in St. Joseph, son of Mildred and Donald Bennett.
He attended Savannah High School. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Army. Don married Linda Jagodzinski on April 25, 1986 in St. Joseph. He worked at Citadel Health Care for 18 years and Crossroads Correctional Center for 20 years, retiring in June 2014 as Maintenance Supervisor. Don enjoyed fishing and playing cards, he especially loved his family and he adored his daughters. He will best be remembered for his home brewed tea.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Donald Sr. and Mildred McKeel, his siblings Mikel Bennett and Sherry Fanning.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Bennett of the home, children, Stacy (Chris) Safley, Amanda Bennett (Cody), Jessica Bennett, Donald Bennett III and Carrie (Jay) Colley, brother, John (Terri) Clemmons, all of St. Joseph, 4 grandchildren, Kaylee, Rhyen, Nova, and Holland, several nieces and nephews, his Chihuahua, Boobie.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Pastor Skip Crisp, officiating. The Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home.
