Ingrid Louise Nelson, 91, St. Joseph, Missouri; passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Mosaic Life Care.
Ingrid was born on November 14, 1933 in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany to the late Wilhelm and Lena Kruger. She was a graduate of a high school in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany.
Ingrid met Dale Robert Nelson in Germany, while he was serving in the US Army. In 1955 she came to the United State on the SS Italia Ship and traveled to Creston, Iowa via train. She and Dale were married in Chicago, Illinois.
They made their home in Creston, Iowa where she had many jobs and on the family farm and operated the Green Valley Butcher Shop until 1995, when they moved to St. Joseph, Missouri.
Ingrid was a member of First Baptist Church, she was an avid cook and enjoyed social gatherings, traveling and shopping.
In addition to her parents, Ingrid was preceded in death by her husband Dale; brothers, Egon and Klaus; brothers-in-law, Dr. Oral Nelson, Everett Nelson, Dr. Kirpal Singh; sisterd-in-law, June and Violett Nelson.
Ingrid is survived by her sons, Terry Lee Nelson (Gun Evans) and Andreas Dale Nelson; granddaughter, Teki Laine Pierce; great-grandchildren, Draven, Izzy, Andreas, Jax, Nora, Asa and Everett.
Graveside Service and Interment 1:30 PM Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
