2 NW Missouri men injured after pickup strikes ATV

NODAWAY COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 6:30p.m. Sunday in Nodaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2021 Polaris Ranger driven by William R. Steins, 76, Skidmore, was northbound on Orion Road one mile west of Parnell. 

The driver failed to yield at the uncontrolled intersection at 200th Street. An eastbound 2005 Chevy 2500 driven by Krista M. Staples, 19, Parnell, struck the ATV at an angle.

Lifenet transported Steins to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Nodaway County EMS transported a passenger on the ATV identified as Harold W. Spire, 62, Maryville, to Mosaic in Maryville. Staples was not injured. The occupants of the ATV were not wearing helmets, according to the MSHP.
