Michael C. Danford, a kind and selfless man, passed away on May 22nd, 2023, at the age of 67. Born on April 20th, 1956, in Rogers, Arkansas, he brought joy and a sense of kindness to every life he touched. Michael, or "Big Mike" as he was affectionately known by his friends, will be remembered for his generosity and genuine spirit.
Michael is survived by his brothers, Dennis and Randy Fine; his dear friends, Sheila Lake and James Day Lake; and countless others who cherished his company and enjoyed his warm presence. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Ronnie Dean and Jo Ella (Smith) Danford, whose love and support helped mold him into the incredible person he became.
Michael's illustrious career began at the young age of 18 when he joined the United States Navy and served his country with pride. Stationed on the U.S.S. America, he worked in Communications and formed lifelong friendships with his fellow crew members. After his service, he continued protecting his community as a police officer for the Garnett Police Department in Kansas. Michael's dedication to helping others extended beyond his professional life, influencing all of his interactions and relationships.
Those who knew Michael were aware of his passion for music, particularly jazz. Whether listening to old classics or discovering new talents, Michael's enthusiasm and knowledge of music brought people together. Alongside his love of music, he was well-versed in the world of cars and could often be found chatting about the newest models and sharing his vast expertise with friends and family.
Michael was well-known for his generosity, often putting the needs of others before his own. He had a giving nature that will be greatly missed, but the legacy he leaves behind serves as an example to all.
Michael C. Danford touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
