

Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Mary Louise (Miller) Goss, 98, of St. Joseph, MO died on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Riverview Nursing Home.

Mary Louise was born April 4, 1922 in St. Joseph, MO to Russell and Mary (Bowen) Woodyard. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School and was honored to be the oldest alumni riding in the 100th Anniversary Parade October 14, 2017. Mary Louise married Wilbur (Clarence) Miller on June 8, 1948. After thirteen years of marriage, Tony lost his battle with cancer on August 20, 1961. Years later, Mary met O.L. (Bill) Goss and they married on February 12, 1971. He, too, lost his battle with cancer on August 20, 1994.

Mary worked for the St. Joseph Gas Company, the Thompson, Brumm, Knepper Clinic, and Montgomery Ward. After retiring, Mary volunteered her time at Mosaic Hospital in the Human Resource Department. She enjoyed volunteering her time throughout her life working with many organizations such as the Boy &amp; Girl Scouts of America and St. Joseph Hospice Care. Mary was a lifelong member of Savannah Avenue Baptist Church.

Mary was the “Hostess with the Mostest” who enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Her favorite things to bake were pies with fluffy meringue, cakes made from scratch, and all things chocolate. Ice cream was her comfort food of choice and was known for often eating a dessert before the prepared course dinner meal. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years, embroidering beautiful tea towels and later, crafting beautiful ceramic pieces for her family.

Mary Louise loved riding the parkways of St. Joseph. As a passenger in the vehicle riding the beautiful parkways, one would hear her reciting Eugene Fields famous “Lovers Lane St. Jo” poem. She proudly taught this poem to her children and grandchildren.

Mary Louise is survived by her four children, Rusty and Cynthia Miller of Denton, Texas; Roger and Lesley Miller of Denton, Texas; Mary Malinda and Jim Cline of Mineola, Missouri and Marsha Miller of St. Joseph. Four stepchildren: Dianna and Clarence Saunders of Rea, Missouri; Debbie Ditch of St. Louis; Dennis and Jackie Goss of Olathe, Kansas, and Randy and Melissa Goss of Blue Springs, Missouri. Nineteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers, her husbands Tony Miller and Bill Goss, her sister Thelma Ruth Shilling and husband, George; her brother William T. Woodyard and wife, Ruth; and her sister Sara Frances Snail and husband, Larry.

Denny L. Holle, 77, of rural Hiawatha, with family by his side, died Sunday evening, April 19, 2020, at his rural home.

Denny was born at Greenleaf, KS, December 8, 1942, one of five children born to Lawrence and Rosy Holle (Craig). He attended Shaw Country School and then went to Barnes High School. After school, Denny did the farming and chores at their family farm.

Denny married Bethel in 1974 and they made their home in Hiawatha, Ks where he lived the rest of his life. Denny worked for Flair Fold for 37 years until they closed. He then worked at Wilde Tool Company for 5 years and then retired.&nbsp;To say Denny was an avid garden tractor puller was very much understated!

Denny is survived by 5 step-children: Cindy (Allen) Wisdom of Falls City, Ne., Ida Stonebarger of Marysville, KS,&nbsp;Marie (Steve) Waterman, Frank (Lorrie) Jorgenson and Amy Jorgenson all of Greenleaf, KS, a nephew David (Laura) Holle of Hiawatha, KS;&nbsp;six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren (one unborn, &nbsp;2 great nephews, 1 great niece, 1 Great-great nephew and 1 great-great niece.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bethel and a granddaughter Jennifer Wenzel, brother Verlin Holle, sister-In-Law Shirley Holle.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 until 4 Thursday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha.

Patricia Ann “Pat’ Wagner, 84, of Hiawatha, with family by her side, died Sunday evening, April 19, 2020, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital where she had been for patient several days.&nbsp; She previously had been a resident of the Pines, and recently Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha.

Pat was born in Sabetha, July 7, 1935, one of three children born to the late Ira “Mart” and Mary Catherine Lock Parks was a lifelong resident of Hiawatha.&nbsp; Pat attended Hiawatha schools, later graduating high school with the class of 1953 where she was a majorette for the marching band.&nbsp; She later graduated from Highland Junior College with an associate’s degree in business. She worked as a secretary for Brown County Services for the Elderly for a total of 21 years, first for Don Neff for 7 years, Bob Cash for 14 years, and later for Steve Ward, before retiring.&nbsp; Pat in conjunction with her ‘day’ job, she was also sales woman for “Stanley Home Products, Inc.” for over 50 years.

After her future husband Gerald K. Wagner, returned from the Korean Conflict, they married October 12, 1959 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Hiawatha which they were longtime members.&nbsp; She also was a member of the Altar Society of the Church; and the ladies auxiliary to VFW Post #5210, also of Hiawatha.&nbsp; They made Hiawatha their home all of their married life where they raised their five children:&nbsp; Danielle, Bobette, Cress, Dirk, and Nicole.&nbsp; Saying Pat enjoyed playing bridge was an understatement!&nbsp; She and Gerald enjoyed playing cards with several different couples through the years.&nbsp; Their family enjoyed family outings, and boating at the Horton Lake.&nbsp; The Wagner family was always known to be a fierce competitor when it came time for the Hiawatha Halloween Parade and enjoyed participating by building family floats for many years when the kids were still at home.&nbsp; Gerald died March 28, 2006.

Pat was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Charles and Robert “Bob” Parks, and her half-sister Alma Ruth “Skippy” Muth.

Survivors include her children: Dani Wagner (Irene); Bobi Dozier (Pete) and their children Katie Jo Underwood (Eric, Alexandria Wilson (Jon, Tiffany Lammon, and Gavin Dozier; Cress Wagner (Paula) and their daughter MaKayla; Dirk Wagner (Anna) and their children Austin, Blythe, Gabriel; Nicki Limron (Gregg) and their daughters Kalli and Julia; and two great-grandchildren: Izayah and Julian (Alexandria and Jon).

A private family graveside services will be held Thursday, April 23, at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha, with Father Daniel Gardner officiating.

Kelly Renee Robertson-Anderson 35, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Saturday April 18, 2020 at her home. 

She was born August 2, 1984 in St. Joseph, and graduated from Benton High School. She worked at Area Nursing Homes as a LPN. Kelly had a great personality, and was very quick witted, she enjoyed shopping and animals. 

Kelly was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Clinton &amp; Phyllis Robertson, maternal grandmother, Janice Darlene Myers, her father Kris Robertson and mother Deborah Albertson. 

Survivors include 2 children Hunter Nigh, and Angelina Whitaker, brothers, Scott Robertson, and Bryan Robertson, uncles, Donnie Robertson, Larry Robertson, and Rodney Myers, aunts, Carolyn (Bob) Swope, Billie (Tim) Charboneau, Diana (Greg) Annigian and Gerry (Blaine) Parker, maternal grandfather, William "Bill" Myers and step father, Bill Albertson.

He was born October 3, 1962 in St. Joseph, MO. He attended Benton High School and was the owner operator of Tom Roberts Sand Blasting. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed mushroom hunting, arrowhead hunting, fishing, and he had a good sense of humor. 

Tom was preceded in death by step mother, Judy Ann Roberts and a brother Christopher Roberts.

J. Eugene "Gene" Crockett 89, of De Kalb, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the Gower convalescent center. 

He was born May 18, 1930 in Dekalb, MO, son of Nellie and William Oscar Crockett. He graduated from DeKalb High School class of 1949 and married Roberta "Joan" Easter on December 23, 1950 in Hiawatha, KS. He worked at Quaker Oats and and retired from TWA as a Mechanic. He enjoyed camping and mushroom hunting, and spending time with his family. He was active in his community in the DeKalb Homecoming Association, DeKalb Fire Department, Rushville Masonic Lodge and DeKalb Christian Church, he was also a member of the TWA retirees. 

Gene was preceded in death by wife, Joan Crockett in 2019, his parents, and his sister Lorene Peters. 

Survivors include, daughters, Pamela M. Earl W. Furst of St Joseph, Missouri, formerly of Cosby, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 20th, 2020 in Cosby surrounded by his family. He was born on May 21, 1926 in his family home near Rosendale, Missouri to Harold and Ethel Brewer Furst.

He graduated from Rosendale High School in 1944 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1945 to 1947. He was stationed in Okinawa and remained lifelong friends with his fellow soldiers.

He married Evelyn Rhoades in May 1948, and they had a loving home and partnership for 72 years. They farmed near Cosby until retirement in 2000, and then moved to St. Joseph. Earl loved to travel, fly his Piper airplane using his farm runway, and visit south Texas in the winter to square dance, golf, and play cards. He restored many antique cars and toured with them all over the United States.

Earl was very active in many community activities. He helped build their local church, Faith United Methodist Church in Cosby. He was a founding director of Rural Water District #2. He served on the Savannah School Board and the Home Bank Board in Savannah. With his antique cars, he was very active in parades with the Old Tymer’s from Moila Temple. He was a long-term member of the Cosby Lion’s Club.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, and three children: Ray (Janet) of Cosby, Cindy of Loveland, Colorado, and Ken of Dubuque, Iowa. He had eight grandchildren: Scott, Jasen, Spencer, Melissa, Chris, Amanda, Sarah, and Zachary, and six great-grandchildren. His daughter-in-law Marian and great-grandson Daniel proceeded him in death.

Patricia loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed nature, dancing, pow-wows and drinking coffee with her best friend, David. Patricia was a selfless person.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kathy was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed her dogs, reading, sewing, bird watching and growing plants.

She was married to Mark S. Piper on Dec. 15, 1981. Mr. Piper preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2018. Survivors include three sons; Steven Piper, Norton, KS, Luke (Jessica) Piper, Oregon, MO, and AJ Piper, Huron, KS, a sister Tammy Harmon, Kuna, ID and two grandchildren Ethan and Evan Piper, Atchison, KS. and her aunt Irene Wood, Seattle, WA. Her parents, husband Mark, a still-born daughter Sarah Piper, a brother Steven Fitkin, and two twin sisters, Patty and Peggy Fitkin preceded her in death.

Floy Jean Hitzelberger, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri; passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 at Riverside Place.

Floy was born on August 25, 1933 in Hardy, Arkansas to the late Guy and Flora (Powell) Lemasters. She was a high school graduate and moved to St. Joseph in 1943.

Floy was a homemaker and also worked as a seamstress and enjoyed babysitting in her home.

Floy was a member of Word of Life Church.&nbsp; She was a talented artist that enjoyed sketching, walking in nature and was a great cook.&nbsp; She loved the Lord and her family more than anything.

In addition to her parents, Floy was preceded in death by two brothers, Max and Orville Lemasters, sister, Alice Davis and two grandchildren, Jordon White and Erin Knight.

Survivors include her children, David Hitzelberger (Elaine, Robin White (David, Kelly Knight, Sherry Clark (Jim) and John Hitzelberger;&nbsp;&nbsp; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; six sisters, Rose Foster (Bob, Lois Ochse (Charles, Shirley Berry (Charles, Daisy Middleton (Jim, Donna Rian (Eddie) and Linda Swope

He is survived by his sister Elma Gummig of La Mirada. His children Ted George, Colorado Springs, Bonnie Gordon, Canyon Country and Tammy Smith, San Diego and three step children Robert Corner, Dawn Weston and Lisa Smith. He was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Shirley A. Simmons, 75, of Highland, a loving mother, friend and retired nurse, died of cancer April 15, 2020 in Wathena KS.&nbsp;

Shirley is survived by sisters: Kennetta Slavin and Vicki (Lonnie) Gray; Children: Wayne Simmons, Gloria Simmons, Lori Simmons and Jerry (Samantha) Simmons; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren with one on the way.&nbsp;

&nbsp;She was preceded in death by parents:&nbsp; Kenneth Hobbs, Doris Phillips Hobbs, daughter Ruth Ann Simmons, son Kyle Simmons and grandson Jeremy Tilton.

Shirley was born April 3, 1945 in St. Joseph MO. Attended Elwood schools.&nbsp;

At age 21 she got her GED. After working many jobs she got into the medical field becoming a CNA, certificate restorative aide, and home health aide. In 1989 she went on to become an LPN.

Shirley's values were strong: Love the Lord with all your heart, put blood family first and respect others.&nbsp;

Her favorite quote is "Remember in the darkness what He taught you in the light"

Growing up she went with family every Friday to Murphy's to eat cat fish. She said it was the best in town.

At age 67 she took a trip with her sister Vicki and family and Jerry and family to go white water rafting. She enjoyed every minute of it.&nbsp;

She loved chocolate and coffee. Milky Way candy bars were her choice and at one time was up to 52 cups of coffee a day.

Her favorite movie was To Kill A Mockingbird; book: the Bible and "Come Share The Being" Dance: jitterbug; youth singer Elvis; Group: LAMB; song "Holy Water"&nbsp;

Shirley wants everyone to remember she loved the Lord and her family more than anything.

Private family services were held April 20, 2020, at the Highland Cemetery.

Anne married Marvin Johnson November 10,1951. He preceded her in death April 16, 1996.

She was a member of the HY Chapter of PEO, Runcie Club, Mensa International, Zeta Tau Alpha, AAUW. Anne was also a Board member of the St. Joseph Historical Society and served as a Deacon and Elder at many Presbyterian Churches including Westminster and Trinity in St. Joseph.

Anne graduated from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois with a Major in Mathematics, Minors in Chemistry and Spanish. Then she later obtained her Masters in Secondary Administration from the University of Iowa.

Anne considered herself a professional substitute teacher in Mathematics, Science, French, and Spanish.

Survivors include children, Douglas, Harold, Phyllis, Nighram, Melissa, and Hanifa; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Boyd; extended family and friends.

Neva Jean Leisure, 96, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at a St. Joseph skilled nursing center where she had resided for the past six years.

She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on March 19, 1924, the daughter of Clara and Emile Mignery.

Neva married Carl Leisure, a World War II Army Veteran, in 1956.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

“Aunt Jeanie” is survived by numerous nieces and nephews around the U.S.A.

Connie L. Bonebrake, 75, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 13,2020.

She was born November 9, 1944 to Grover and Bessie (Bias) Linder.

Connie attended Edison grade school and graduated Central High School. She was a member of the CHS National Honors Society. Connie graduated from Methodist Medical Center in 1965. After graduation she worked for the University of Missouri Medical Center; later she returned to St. Joseph, Missouri and work at Methodist Medical Center. In 1977 Connie started working for the city of St. Joseph as a public health nurse. She felt public health was her true calling in nursing. In 1990 Connie was selected as a Woman of Excellence. Later she was honored as one of the twenty-five People Who Made a Difference by the Newspress. Connie served on numerous committees, advisory boards, and Board of Directors, some of which included Headstart, United Cerebral Palsy, American Red Cross, Division of Family Services, Women’s Chamber of Commerce. She served on the Board of Deacons and the Session of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Connie was a Sunday school teacher in the 1970’s, she served as president of the Local Chapter of the American Nurses Association. Connie was a former president of Skaith PTA. She frequently served as a room mother during her children’s school years. Connie volunteered at Mark Twain and Brookdale Church for many years.

She attended Sunday school at Wyatt Park Baptist Church and attended services at First Presbyterian Church.

Connie married Robert Dyche September 4, 1965, they later divorced. On April 17, 1975 she married James Bonebrake and divorced in 1999.

She loved to cook and bake meals for her family, friends, and co-workers. Connie was an active snow skier for over ten years and belonged to the Kansas City Ski Club. She was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals fan. Connie loved rock and roll music. She enjoyed writing poetry and short stories; even took classes in creative writing at MWSC.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Matthew Bonebrake; infant daughter, Karie Dyche; brothers, Thomas, Mike, and Mark Linder.

Survivors include her children, Kate Acord (James, Jeff Bonebrake; grandchildren, Kaylie Stams, Tristan Acord, Colin, Maeci, and Adelyn Bonebrake; brother, Pat Linder (Sandy, extended family and friends.

Farewell Services and Gathering will be held at a later date. Inurnment Ashland Cemetery. Judith Lee ‘Judy’ Lambert, 75, of Atchison, KS, formerly of Augusta, Maine, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the Atchison Hospital.

Judith Lee Osborne was born on March 24, 1945 in Augusta, Maine, the daughter of Ralph and Beatrice (Davies) Osborne. She graduated from High School and attended college in the Augusta area. Judy worked as a librarian for the Legislative Law Library in Augusta.

Survivors include a son, Kerry (Brenda) Lambert, Atchison; daughter, Kim Lambert, Augusta; three grandchildren, Beatrice and Tyler Lambert, Atchison and Kami Lambert, Augusta; brothers, Alan, Sookie, and Dana; sister, Jackie.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donnie, Carly, and Bob; sister, Jean.

Shirley A. McAsey 84, of Saint Joseph, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 at St. Joseph Senior Living. 

She was born March 6, 1936 in Marshfield, MO, daughter of the late Laura and Earl Welch. She graduated from Lafayette High School class of 1954. Shirley married James B McAsey Sr. on April 30, 1959. She worked at Southwestern Bell as a Telephone operator for 19 years retiring in 1979. She was Catholic and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James, son, James B. McAsey Jr., daughter, Laura Whitley, sisters, Margaret Peate, and Arletha Hawkins, brothers, John, David, Clarence, Hugh, Bobbie, and George Welch. 

Survivors include, daughter, Linda (Carl) Kerns, four grandchildren: Michael (Ashley) Kerns, Jaime R. Landers, William (Melissa) Whitley, and James "Buster" (Jordanna) Whitley, 9 great-grandchildren, Emma, Seth, Karsyn, Benjamin, Hudson, Grayson, Rhylann, Brody, and Emeri, sister in laws: Jerri McAsey, and Nancy Herbert, and several nieces and nephews.

She was born February 9, 1951 in St. Joseph, Missouri daughter of Natividad "Nettie" &amp; Jose Torres. She graduated from Leblond High School, class of 1969 and worked at Wal-Mart Patricia enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. 

Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Jose Torress, mother, Natividad "Nettie" Torres, sisters, Carmen Marie Torres, Matilda "Tillie" Davis, Genevieve "Jennie" Mozier and Dorothy King.

Paula Marie (Ott) Segrest, 67, of rural Hiawatha, died Monday morning, April 13, 2020, at her home.

Paula was born at Hiawatha, August 20, 1952, the only child born to Dr. J.W. and Oneita Ott and had lived in Hiawatha nearly all of her life where she graduated from Hiawatha High School.&nbsp; She also graduated from Highland Junior College with an associate degree in business.&nbsp;

Paula was one of the first EMT’s in Hiawatha, working for Frank Davis for Town &amp; Country Ambulance Service.&nbsp; She also worked for Stuart Lay surveying for a short time. Paula enjoyed working as the records clerk for the Brown County Sheriff Dept. for over 26 years, before retiring, and considered everyone there her extended family.&nbsp;

Paula took up several causes through the years with her being very dedicated to the Brown County Humane Society, and Brown County Genealogical Society.&nbsp; Paula grew up in the Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha.&nbsp; One of the things she enjoyed was visiting Mustang Island, Texas in 2008.

She married Ronald Haze Segrest February 2, 1991 in Hiawatha.&nbsp; They lived just outside Hiawatha where they have several dogs/cats and ponies to take care of for the Humane Society, and loved every minute of it.&nbsp; He survives.

Survivors include her daughters:&nbsp; Niki (Jason) Tollefson and Erin (Jesse) Hughes.&nbsp; Also surviving are her 5 grandchildren:&nbsp; Kyle and Kade Tollefson, and Dawson, Taylor and Kaitlyn Hughes, all of Hiawatha.

Private graveside services were held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.&nbsp; Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl officiated.

Frederick Allen Petesch, 57, Lincoln, NE, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020, with his wife by his side after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Fred was born June 11, 1962 in Salina, KS, the son of John and Cratis Petesch. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1981. He served in the United States Army for three years and then contracted with the Army for 35 years as a helicopter mechanic. Fred proudly worked beside soldiers maintaining military helicopters in Desert Storm, Bosnia and Iraqi Freedom. He lived in Germany for 20 years and learned to speak the language. He loved to share his travel stories. Fred ended his career in Lincoln, Nebraska working for the FFA as an Aviation Safety Inspector (Airworthiness) in what he called his dream job. There he was surrounded by amazing and wonderful people. Fred had a passion for flying since he was a boy and a successful career in aviation. He was a private pilot and a certified A&amp;P mechanic with an inspector authorization. An adrenaline junkie enjoying cycling, kite surfing, weight lifting and snowboarding, he had a very active life.

He is survived by his wife, Julie (Turner Lowe) of the home, his parents, John and Cratis Petesch, Easton, KS, siblings, Shirley (Joe) Catone, Texas, John Petesch, Horton, KS, Kathy (Lowell) Thornton, Topeka, KS, Coleenn (Gerald) Frans, St. Joseph, MO and several nieces and nephews.

Carol Jean Stanton, 66, of Agency, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at her home with her family at her side. 

She was born May 26, 1953 in St. Joseph, daughter of Bonnie and Jewel Noland. She graduated from Faucett High School, class of 1971. She married William "Bill" Stanton and worked at Quaker Oats, from where she retired after 28 years. She was a member of Agency Christian Church. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, gathering with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Carol will be remembered for her longstanding tradition of cooking and hosting Christmas Dinner. 

Carol was preceded in death by father, Jewel Noland, daughter, Infant Carrie Michelle Clark.

She was born May 26, 1953 in St. Joseph, daughter of Bonnie and Jewel Noland. She graduated from Faucett High School, class of 1971. She married William "Bill" Stanton and worked at Quaker Oats, from where she retired after 28 years. She was a member of Agency Christian Church. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, gathering with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Carol will be remembered for her longstanding tradition of cooking and hosting Christmas Dinner. Carol was preceded in death by father, Jewel Noland, daughter, Infant Carrie Michelle Clark. Survivors include, husband, William "Bill" Stanton of Agency, mother, Bonnie Murphy of Agency, children, Jeannie (Brian) Mizell of Faucett, Billy Stanton of St. Joseph, Julie (Edward) Boeh of Wathena, KS, grandchildren, Brandon and Jordan Coil and Kylie Mizell, sister, Rita Pritchett (Ken Gunther) of Pierce City, MO. Family Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 20, 2020 at Rupp Funeral Home with livestream of service available. Rev. James Barnett officiating. Open Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Agency Cemetery. Norma J. Laukemper, 87, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

Norma was born on April 4, 1933 in Blair, Kansas.&nbsp; She graduated from Clarksdale High School and graduated from Platt Gard Business School.

Norma worked at the Missouri State Employment office for 40 years. She was a member of Francis Street First Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Warren Laukemper on June 23, 2010, parents Fern Thompson Talbot and John R. Thompson, sister Grace S. Stunz, two brothers, J.R. Thompson and Vodre (Tommy) Thompson.

Norma married John Warren Laukemper April 27, 1972.

Survivors include son Terry Turner (Julie, two grandchildren Aubrey Nicole Zimmerman (Bucky) and John Tyler Turner (Makynlee, three great-grandchildren Avery Jean, Amelia Ann and John Colt and niece Sharon Showalter.

Graveside services and interment 12:00 PM Friday, April 17th at Memorial Park Cemetery.
