Delores P. Moyer, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020.

She was born March 17, 1934 to Marcus and Cruzita (Hernandez) Valencia. Delores married David Moyer, Sr. in 1958; he preceded her in death in 1969. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband; son, David L. Moyer; parents; a sister and 5 brothers.

Survivors include son, Daniel J. Moyer (Dru), St. Petersburg, Florida, grandson, David J. Moyer, Jr., St. Joseph, Missouri, and numerous cousins.

Earl Myers, 100, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2020 at the home of daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Craig Mosher.&nbsp; He lived a full life of 100 years.

Earl was born to Julia Myers in the home of his paternal grandparents on a bitterly cold February morning.&nbsp; Much to his Aunt Mattie's chagrin he was placed in her arms with instructions to sit behind the wood stove for days to keep that baby warm.&nbsp; He was special to the Myers's family as his father Earl had died five months before his birth in the service of his country during WWI.

Earl had a full childhood.&nbsp;&nbsp; As a child of the depression, he made do with what he had.&nbsp; His mother remarried to Earl Sr.'s brother, Elmer.&nbsp; That union produced three siblings for Earl; Elmer, Catherine and Robert.

After graduation from Lafayette in 1938, Earl began work at the St. Joseph Light &amp; Power and continued his education at St. Joseph Junior College.&nbsp; During this time, a pretty brunette walked into his life.&nbsp; So did Uncle Sam.&nbsp; Earl joined the Army and became the youngest soldier at that time to graduate from OCS.&nbsp; The newly commissioned 2nd Lieutenant married that brunette, Arline Silverthorn.&nbsp; After four months of marriage, Earl shipped out to North Africa and the beaches of Anzio.&nbsp; After liberating Italy and narrowly missing D-day, he returned home to start his new life.

The couple moved to Rolla where Earl graduated with his degree in Chemical Engineering from the Missouri School of Mines.&nbsp; After a brief stint at the power plant in Monahans, Texas, Arline and newborn daughter Julia returned to St. Joseph where he started his 40 year career as chief chemist at the St. Joseph Light &amp; Power Company.

During these happy years a son, Mike was born. Earl became a Mason and joined Moila and thoroughly enjoyed the marching unit.&nbsp; He loved the cadence of the march, his best memory of the Army.

After his retirement, he and Arline enjoyed many winters in Marco Island, Florida with their dear friends Nadine and Denton Matteson.&nbsp; Summers were spent designing and tending the gardens at Robidoux Row . For their efforts, they were honored as one of the "20 Who Count" in the News Press.&nbsp; Earl began to embroider and created intricate and beautiful counter cross stitch images.&nbsp; He also enjoyed reading, playing golf and reminiscing.

Arline passed in 2012 and Earl spent his remaining years in the home of his daughter.&nbsp; He planted pots for her garden right up to the time of his death.&nbsp; He also lived to watch his grandson, Colton Craig , march on the Plain at West Point, calling perfect cadence as the cadets marched by the computer screen.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, wife and son Michael.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, nieces and nephews and four grandsons; Christopher, Andrew, Aaron Craig and Jack Chew, and five great-grandchildren.

Earl and Julia would like to thank his loving and dedicated caregivers Brenda and Karrie and the staff of Mosaic Hospice, Nicole RN, Shelly, Kim and Sandy.&nbsp; They filled his last years with companionship.

Mr. Myers has been cremated under the direction of the Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.

Military Honors will be rendered in December when Cadet Colton Craig can participate in the services and the family will gather.

Michael Stephen Przybylski, age 71, reunited with his wife, Lisa Ann Przybylski on October 22nd, 2020. Lisa recently passed away in September of this year.

They were able to celebrate their 50th anniversary on April 3rd, 2020.

Mike is survived by his children, Ann (Ryan) Swank, and Michael (Stacy) Przybylski Jr.; Grandchildren Rylan (Amber) Swank, Kaitlyn (Preston) Burton, Megan and Allyson Swank, and Jack and Ella Przybylski; His great grandchildren, Maci Burton, Natalie and Nathan Elwood, Rider Swank, and another baby Swank on the way. His siblings, John (Marsha) Przybylski, Robert Przybylski, Janice (Mark) Mallon, and Charles (Susan) Przybylski. As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph and Agnes Rose Przybylski and sister-in Law; Bonnie Przybylski

Mike was born January 5th, 1949 in Saint Joseph, MO. He graduated from Christian Brothers, then was drafted to serve our country shortly after, where he and Lisa had the opportunity to live in Germany.

When they returned home Mike worked for Quaker Oats for many years until they closed. He continued his career at Mead, and then finished his last years of employment working for the Saint Joseph School District.

In the time Mike’s wife Lisa fell ill, he stood by her side supporting her and being her primary care giver until her passing. Mike always ensured his family was well taken care of and was very supportive of their success.

Mike had a special love for his family and friends. He loved attending as many events as possible to support his children and grandchildren.

He was an avid sports fan, and particularly loved watching Mizzou and Chiefs Football, Royals Baseball, and hockey. He loved fishing, traveling with family, and listening to music from the 50s. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Open visitation will be from 1:00 - 4:00 PM on Monday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.&nbsp; The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday evening at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.&nbsp;

Mass of Christian Burial 1:00 PM, Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment will follow the mass at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Rex C “Bud” DeShon, Jr, 89, passed away on October 22, 2020 at a local healthcare facility after a lengthy illness.

He was born on March 3, 1931 to Rex C DeShon, Sr and Agnes (Grooms) DeShon in St Joseph, Missouri. He attended the one-room Riverside Grade School and graduated from Central High School in 1948. On March 7, 1953, he married Louise Cobaugh. Following discharge from the U.S. Army in 1955, he and Louise started farming east of St. Joseph. With his brother, Larry, they operated a Grade A Registered Holstein Dairy until 1997. They received a Balanced Farming Award in 1967. After retiring from dairying, Bud and Louise wintered in Florida and South Padre Island, Texas returning in time for spring planting. Through Louise’s dog breeding, shows and winter travel they made many friendships across the country. Louise preceded him in death in 2017 as well as his parents.

Bud had a 50+ year 32nd degree member of the Cosby Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, the Moila Shrine and the Huffman United Methodist Church. He also served as a Director of The Heritage Bank.

Bud is survived by his son, Rex, III (Mary Kay), his brothers, Richard (Mignon) DeShon, Larry (Linda) DeShon, sister in-law Natalie Lewis, two step-grandsons, Derec (Natalie) Euler, Brian (Shelby) Euler, three step-great grandchildren, Lennon, Grant and Fallon Euler all of Kansas City, MO, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dwight “Big D” Ferguson, 59, Amazonia, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care.

He was born December 4, 1960 in Havana, Illinois to Thomas and Margaret (Rainey) Ferguson. Dwight married Cathy Wood December 11, 1987. She survives of the home. He was a member of the Local 110 Carpenters Union. Dwight worked for Lehr Construction for over 20 years before retiring in 2017. He enjoyed hunting, spending time at Truman Lake fishing, boating, watching NASCAR and played in a band for several years. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Ferguson; parents; siblings, Daryl, Diana, Douglas Ferguson, Darla Schildknecht.

Additional survivors include son, Jeremy DeSpain (Lacey Brookshier); grandchildren, Keaton, Connor and Slash DeSpain; brother, Daniel Ferguson (Anna); numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Southern Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, working on cars, cooking, playing shuffleboard, battleship and aggravation board games and electronics. She was married to Joseph W. Conard on Dec. 8, 1955. They were later divorced. She was married to Charles S. Church on May 22, 1965, they were later divorced.

Survivors include two sons: Joseph C. Conard, Horton, KS and Rex A. (Jackie) Conard, Dixon, MO, two daughters Beverly ( Rick) Bilderback, Atchison, KS and Pamela D. Church, Fleetwood, NC, two brothers Ralph (Beulah) Brown, Essex, MD, and Charles (Connie) Brown, La Grande, OR, a sister Helen Thomas, Winston Salem, NC, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Her parents, four brothers and three sisters , one grandson, preceded her in death.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was married to Joseph W. Conard on Dec. 8, 1955. They were later divorced. She was married to Charles S. Church on May 22, 1965, they were later divorced. Survivors include two sons: Joseph C. Conard, Horton, KS and Rex A. (Jackie) Conard, Dixon, MO, two daughters Beverly ( Rick) Bilderback, Atchison, KS and Pamela D. Church, Fleetwood, NC, two brothers Ralph (Beulah) Brown, Essex, MD, and Charles (Connie) Brown, La Grande, OR, a sister Helen Thomas, Winston Salem, NC, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was born April 15, 1944 in Mount Ayr, Iowa daughter of Frances &amp; Orville Roach. Donna spent many of her working years at Sav-On Furniture and later Saxton Chateau. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, spending time with her family and especially her grandkids. 

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Millard George Ferguson in 2016, father, Orville Roach, mother, Frances Roach, brothers, Jerry Roach Sr., and Orville Roach Jr., sisters, Betty Hughes, Opel Bowen and Norma Woosley.

She was born August 21, 1937 in Auburn, New York, one of sixteen children born to Joseph and Jane (Reedy) Farrelly. Jean was born and raised in New York. She joined the US Navy where she met the love of her life, Richard Berry. They got married August 21, 1959 and later raised three children. Richard preceded Jean in death on November 18, 2016.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Christopher Berry; 1 sister and 2 brothers.

She was a member of Three Angels Seventh Day Adventist Church.

He was born September 5, 1931 to Lawrence and Opal Roberts.

Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in Korea, but his true passion was farming which he did all of his life. He also enjoyed his 2-cylinder John Deere tractors.

Bob married Joyce Reece on February 20, 1955 and his life was centered around the family that he loved and cherished. They had just recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Lawrence Carroll "Buck" Roberts and a sister Patricia Kay Roberts.

Harold E. Mosser Jr., 84, of Elwood, Kansas died Saturday, October 17, 2020 at his home. &nbsp;

Harold was born on April 3, 1936 in Elwood, Kansas to Harold “Edward” and Veda Mae (Smith) Mosser Sr..&nbsp; He graduated from Elwood High School and lived most all of his life in Elwood.&nbsp; Harold had worked for Seitz in St. Joseph, owned and operated the Mobil Service Station in Elwood, then worked and retired from Boehringer’s in St. Joseph.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Harold is a member of the Wathena Masonic Lodge #64 AF &amp; AM, Moila Shrine and the Scottish Rite of St. Joseph and was in the Cushman Unit. &nbsp;

He married Mary Jean Schuman on June 10, 1955 in Savannah, Missouri.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on November 25, 2007.&nbsp; Harold was also preceded by his sister, Helen Jean Bennett. &nbsp;

Prior to retirement she was a licensed beautician.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jean was a member of New Life Assembly of God in Barnett, MO.&nbsp; She loved to sing hymns, study the Bible and teach Sunday School.

She married Lawrence Joseph on September 10, 1961, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter Kim Plummer (Gerald) of St. Joseph; step-daughter Laurie Seifert (William) of Roseville, CA; grandchildren, Jim Seifert of Woodlands, TX, Dan Seifert of Huffman, TX, John Plummer of Los Angeles, CA, Lorelei Burns of St. Joseph, Jeremy Plummer of Branson; seven great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jean was a devoted wife and mother.&nbsp; She was full of life and loved having fun.&nbsp; She was very involved with all Kim's school activities as room mother and chaperone.&nbsp; Jean liked harmless practical jokes - she was like Lucille Ball.

Jean has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel of St. Joseph, MO.&nbsp; Services will be held at a later date.

God’s angels carried Don Ransom to Heaven on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at the age of 75.

Don was a graduate of Lafayette High School, St Joseph Junior College and Northwest Missouri State University where he was graduated with a BS in Science and a Master’s in Education. He spent his career of 33 years with the St. Joseph School District. 

He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy, on May 29, 1966. They were blessed with three children, Elizabeth (Curtis) Zahnd, Chris (Lisa) Ransom and Lauren (Brian) Dreis. Don was Papa to grandchildren Emmaleigh and Cooper Zahnd, Jacob Ransom, Addison Carrel, Jonathan Dreis, Bree Brown, Kay (Cody)Dwyer and great grandchildren Parker, Elle and Kodi. Additional survivors include sisters-in-law Barbara East, Janis (David) Irwin, stepsister Judy (Jerry) VanVickle, and stepbrother Tom (Jane) Wells.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Don and Dora Ann and stepfather Harold G. Wells; brother-in-law Bob East, his in-laws Ernie and Margaret Hertel, and Peggy’s stepfather Clement G. Meyn.

Don’s life could be summed up in the words of a friend, “Don was such a genuine person to work with, to talk to, to play a round of golf with. He was an icon in the St. Joseph School District and had many great friends.” He was an active member of St Peter Lutheran Church and directed the church choir for 42 years. He shared his love of and talent in music in many ways and with many organizations. “Today there is less harmony on earth but a whole lot more bass in Heaven.”

She was born April 9, 1932 in Troy, Kansas to Ina and Nile Smith. Mary graduated from Troy High School and then from Gard Business University. She could always beat her girls at typing and shorthand competitions. She married Russell D. Barton February 25, 1955. They later moved to Platte City and then to Kansas City where they resided until his death in 2013. Mary was a stay at home mom until she and Russell leased a Dairy Queen. She then became manager at the Raytown Dairy Queen, retiring at the age of 75. Mary’s family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed every minute spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary would take them on vacations and have overnights at her home as often as possible.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; parents; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.

She was born April 13, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Arthur Paul and Bernice Emma (Rekate) Hoefelmann. Judith married Robert L. Klein on November 3, 1962. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1990. She retired as a registered nurse at the State Hospital in St. Joseph. Judith enjoyed her cats and her kids, and never missed one of their events.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

She was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Frances enjoyed spending time with her family. She was well-liked and known for her dry sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers and one sister.

Robert E. "Bob" Hanf Sr.  1938 - 2020

Wilton Hugh Adkins, 87 of Savannah, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, surrounded by family.

Wilton was born January 13, 1933 in Savannah, Missouri to the late Merle Columbus and Crystal Ann (Schweizer) Adkins. He graduated from Rosendale High School in 1951 and was active in FFA, State Livestock Judging Team, 4-H, Football and Softball.

Wilton was in the United States Army and served his country honorably from 1953 to 1955. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

After returning, Wilton married Beverly Jean Fothergill on June 5, 1955 at First Christian Church in Rosendale, Missouri. They had 4 children, Kathy, Susan, Connie and Randy. Wilton and Beverly dairied until 1965. He farmed the remainder of his life.

Wilton was also a substitute USPS Rural Mail Carrier, an Andrew County Judge/Commissioner for 10 years and Presiding Commissioner for four of those 10 years, a Real Estate Salesman, helped his parents with construction, and was always "The Boss."

Wilton grew up attending the First Christian Church in Rosendale, MO, and later served as a Deacon and Board Member of First Christian Church in Savannah, MO. He was a member of the American Legion Savannah Post #287, where he served as Commander of Savannah Chapter and participated as Honor Guard Firing Squad for veteran funerals. He was on the Fair Board and helped manage the race track. He was also a Project Leader of 4-H, a Democrat Committeeman, Volunteer for the County and State Emergency Management, and started Savannah Girls Softball Leagues and coached Adkins Construction Girl's Softball in Savannah, MO. They won State and played in a National Tournament.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters Kathy Yost (Don Buckley), Susan (Len) Zalenski, and Connie Blackford (Ron McNeely); son, Randy &nbsp;(Jane) Adkins; sister, Kathleen Potter; grandchildren, Jessica Yost Williamson, Vern Yost, Kathryn (Jay) Zalenski McDaniel, Amber Blackford (Robert Pickrell), Katie Yost, Austin Blackford, Michael Zalenski, Jayden Adkins Justice; great-grandchildren, Lilly Yost, Kayli Tasker, and Rylee Yost, and special family; Jimmy, Cindy, Téa, and Collin O'Rourke.

Mr. Adkins has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. Visitation will be 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 22, at First Christian Church in Savannah, MO. Followed by a Celebration of Life at the church. Inurnment: Bennett Lane Cemetery.

Wilton Hugh Adkins, 87 of Savannah, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, surrounded by family.Wilton was born January 13, 1933 in Savannah, Missouri to the late Merle Columbus and Crystal Ann (Schweizer) Adkins. He graduated from Rosendale High School in 1951 and was active in FFA, State Livestock Judging Team, 4-H, Football and Softball.Wilton was in the United States Army and served his country honorably from 1953 to 1955. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.After returning, Wilton married Beverly Jean Fothergill on June 5, 1955 at First Christian Church in Rosendale, Missouri. They had 4 children, Kathy, Susan, Connie and Randy. Wilton and Beverly dairied until 1965. Dolores Kelsey, 88, of St. Joseph, passed away, October 18, 2020.&nbsp; Dolores was born November 15, 1931 in St. Joseph, to Colman W. and Flossie B. (Silvey) Heppard.

She had worked at Standard Brands, Noma Lights, Whittaker Cable, and retired from Sherwood Medical.

She married Charles William "Bill" Kelsey and he preceded her in death.&nbsp; Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include nieces, Peg Pillsbury (Norman), Diane Gibson (Robert), Carla Myers ; nephews David Heppard, Robert Heup, Steven Heup; her best friends Lea Curd and Iola Riggs; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2020, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.&nbsp; Graveside services will follow at 1:00 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Velvet Sommer officiating.
