Lisa Irene Stillman 60, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday May 3, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital, in Saint Joseph. 

She was born March 15, 1960 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She graduated from Benton High School class of 1978, and served in the United States Air Force retiring after 18 years of service. She enjoyed yard work, cooking and bbq's, quilting, and crocheting, and she loved going to the boat. Lisa was a very kind hearted and selfless, always willing to help a friend and her family. 

She was preceded in death by her father, William "Day" Stillman. 

She is survived by daughter, Ariel Stillman (Albert "A.J." McCulley, Saint Joseph, MO, mother; Virginia Lee Stillman, sister, Collene Boone, brother; William H. (Pat) Stillman, Topeka, KS, and Tim (Gina) Stillman, St. Joseph, MO, best friend, Carmen Butcher, Belleview, NE.

She was born July 16, 1943 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Edna Maxine and Arthur "Gene" Bittick. She worked at Whitaker Cable and later Wal-Mart. She was a member of Church of the Brethren.

Barbara A. (Curnutt) Frankum, 71, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born August 31, 1948 in St, Joseph, Missouri.

Barbara married Dale S. Frankum July 22, 1972. He survives of the home.

She was a 1966 graduate of Lafayette High School, then later attended Northwest Missouri State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. Barbara worked as a social worker for 27 years for the Missouri Division of Family Services.

She was very active at McCarthy Baptist Church, especially in the women’s, children’s and missions ministries. Barbara enjoyed traveling and her retirement job as a greeter at Walmart. Most of all she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bessie (Giffin); brothers, John and Walter Curnutt; sister, Marilyn Paxton.

Additional survivors include children, James Frankum (Jennifer, Beth Barbosa (Patrick); grandchildren, Mason, Jude and Melena Barbosa, Ryleigh and Raegann Frankum; sister, Louise Ferguson; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Squires, December 16,1950. He survives of the home.

She enjoyed gardening, golfing, cooking and needlepoint and was a member of Ashland United Methodist Church, Flower Society, PEO Chapter FP, SIS (Sisters in Service) organization, and SJCC Women’s Golf Association. Her grandchildren affectionately called her Bubb which was short for Bubbly. She was well-known for her cooking and especially her legendary apple pie.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Betty Simkins.

Thomas owned a construction business, in addition to operating a farm with his family.

Tom was a craftsman, enjoyed stained glass and woodworking projects, being outside, and spending time with his beloved family.

She was born August 16, 1941 in St. Joseph, Missouri daughter of Katherine &amp; Charles Bales. She attended Lafayette high school. Karen was a homemaker who enjoyed bird watching, but she hated squirrels, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Eagles Aerie #49, and the Navy wives club. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Conway, her parents, brothers, Sharel and Gerald Bales. 

Survivors include: daughters, Kathy Conway (Kevin Schubert) and Lori (Rick) Conway-Bernard, sons, Jerry (April) Conway and Danny (Tina) Conway all of St. Joseph, MO, 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, as well as several, nieces and nephews and her dog Taz.

Karen Marie Conway  1941 - 2020

After a long, lengthy battle Harold Nathan Jewett's wings were ready for his final journey home on &nbsp;May 3, 2020.

Harold was born December 23, 1939 in Craig, MO, to Guy and Josephine (Backaus) Jewett.&nbsp; He was 1957 graduate of Craig High School, Gards Business University in 1958, at attended Missouri Western night classes.

He married his loving wife Kay Sybert on May 23, 1963 at the First Baptist Church in Savannah, MO.

Harold worked for Land Construction in 1958 and advanced to Vice President; retiring in 1985.&nbsp; He then went to work for Ideker Inc. as controller; retiring again in 2008.&nbsp; In all He worked for 50 years in the financial end of heavy construction.

He was Governor of the Moose Lodge from 1979 - 1981, treasurer of their homeowners association for several years, and was a member of the Nodaway Valley Ambassador Club, in which Harold and Kay traveled abroad many times to Italy, Sicily, Greece, Germany, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, the Fiji Islands, and many cruises.

Harold also liked working in the yard trimming the bushes and attending to the flowers.&nbsp; Spending time by solving the crossword puzzles found in the newspaper, scratching lottery tickets, daily cruises in his truck, family dinner gatherings, sampling all of the desserts.&nbsp; These will be treasured memories we will carry with us forever...until we meet again.

Harold is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kay; sister Collene Fields; brothers, Lloyd Wayne of St. Joseph, &nbsp;Guy Lavern (Phyllis Belgiere) of Parkville; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Floyd Gene, Lewis Oliver; sisters Shirley Bailey; Joan Hearn; niece Andrea Joan Jewett; nephew Michael Shawn Jewett; grandparents Williams and Mae Backhaus and Frank and Hattie Jewett.

Harold enjoyed life to the fullest.&nbsp; HIs smile, love for a tall glass of sweet tea or a large Diet Coke from a fountain, beautiful piano and organ playing, dessert loving, number crunching, chuckling, kind personality will be greatly missed.

Memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

After a long, lengthy battle Harold Nathan Jewett's wings were ready for his final journey home on &nbsp;May 3, 2020.Harold was born December 23, 1939 in Craig, MO, to Guy and Josephine (Backaus) Jewett.&nbsp; He was 1957 graduate of Craig High School, Gards Business University in 1958, at attended Missouri Western night classes.He married his loving wife Kay Sybert on May 23, 1963 at the First Baptist Church in Savannah, MO.Harold worked for Land Construction in 1958 and advanced to Vice President; retiring in 1985.&nbsp; He then went to work for Ideker Inc. as controller; retiring again in 2008.&nbsp; In all He worked for 50 years in the financial end of heavy construction.He was Governor of the Moose Lodge from 1979 - 1981, treasurer of their homeowners association for several years, and was a member of the Nodaway Valley Ambassador Club, in which Harold and Kay traveled abroad many times to Italy, Sicily, Greece, Germany, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, the Fiji Islands, and many cruises.Harold also liked working in the yard trimming the bushes and attending to the flowers.&nbsp; Spending time by solving the crossword puzzles found in the newspaper, scratching lottery tickets, daily cruises in his truck, family dinner gatherings, sampling all of the desserts.&nbsp; These will be treasured memories we will carry with us forever...until we meet again.Harold is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kay; sister Collene Fields; brothers, Lloyd Wayne of St. Joseph, &nbsp;Guy Lavern (Phyllis Belgiere) of Parkville; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Floyd Gene, Lewis Oliver; sisters Shirley Bailey; Joan Hearn; niece Andrea Joan Jewett; nephew Michael Shawn Jewett; grandparents Williams and Mae Backhaus and Frank and Hattie Jewett.Harold enjoyed life to the fullest.&nbsp; HIs smile, love for a tall glass of sweet tea or a large Diet Coke from a fountain, beautiful piano and organ playing, dessert loving, number crunching, chuckling, kind personality will be greatly missed.Memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.The family would like to give a special thanks to all the wonderful doctors and nurses for their exceptional care.Harold will lie in state Wednesday, May 6, 2020, from 12:00 noon till 6:00 p.m. at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel. Sharon K.( Kendall) Jones, age 75 of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away May 3, 2020 after a long hard-fought battle against multiple health issues.

Sharon was born Oct. 1, 1944 to Hosea “H.O.” and E. Emogene (White) Kendall in Sweet Springs, Missouri.

Sharon graduated from Central High School and was a homemaker, housekeeper and bartender. She loved playing cards with family, fishing, watching Westerns and finding bargains at garage sales and thrift stores.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jim, Wayne, Claude, George and Russell Kendall; sisters Pauline Guier and Beverly Sue Kendall; and grandson Colby Sollars.

She is survived by sister Patty Ann Gorbet of Blue Springs, Missouri; brother Ron (Carole) Kendall of Anderson, Texas; daughters Janice (Kent) Heier of St. Joseph and JoAnne (Kipp) Tyborski of Papillion, Nebraska; sons David (Andrea) Jones of Chicago, Illinois and Kevin Jones of St. Joseph; grandchildren Tayler (Kevin) Cruz of St. Joseph, Dillon Denney of Savannah, McKenna (Ryan) Wood of Amazonia, Missouri and Caitlyn Tyborski of Omaha, Nebraska; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Danny W. Perry, 66, St. Joseph, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, May 2, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 23, 1954 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Danny married Joann B. Byford July 26, 1975. She survives of the home.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 14 years, then the U.S. Army Reserves for 6 years. Danny was very proud of his military service.

He was a member of Life Church and the V.F.W. Danny worked for CD Smith for over 20 years, Walmart, then later Apple Bus Company as a driver and trainer for 9 years.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, his dogs, and driving his "bus kids”. Danny loved spending time with his family.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Helen (Lonjers)Perry.

Additional survivors include children, Justin D. Perry (Amber, Jessica D. Bailey, Jonathan D. Evelyn Janis (George) Wahlert, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, May 1st, 2020. 

Evelyn was born July 11, 1927 to late Peter and Martha (Uhrick) George, in Ft. Morgan, Colorado.

After graduating from Hillrose High School, in Hillrose, Colorado, Evelyn married Harvey Lyle Wahlert, December 5, 1946 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado. Lyle also preceded Evelyn in death, August 1, 1994. They lived in Hillrose, Colorado operating a family farm for a number of years. Lyle and Evelyn Wahlert moved to St. Joseph, Missouri in 1958.

Church work was an important part of Evelyn’s life with Lyle in the Community of Christ Church. Serving in several roles: Pastoring (Lay pastoring) many congregations with Lyle, Elder, Sunday School Teacher, Women’s Leader, Mission Center bookkeeper, and congregational bookkeeper.Evelyn was an excellent seamstress, sewing clothes for her children, friends and relatives. She crocheted many afghans and enjoyed quilting. She finished her last quilt at age 92, but continued crocheting as long as she was able.Evelyn wrote a memoir that will be cherished by her family. She was able to relate events and historical happenings that will be valued for generations. Evelyn possessed a great love for her family and provided the example of respect and living with grace. With the comfort of her presence now gone, her grace and spirit will enduringly abide with us.

Evelyn is also preceded in death by: her parents, husband, son-in-law, Clyde Strine, grandson, Elliott Wahlert and Vince Garcia.

She is survived by all seven of her children: Lorraine Strine, Lenard (Marilyn) Wahlert, Lee Wahlert (David Machado, Lavonne Wahlert, Lucille Wahlert (Shannon Gilliland) , Lisa (Mark) Twombly, Loren (Ann Marie) Wahlert, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, James George, and a sister Donna Mull.

Celebration of Life services will be at a later date due to the Covid 19 Virus at the Community of Christ Church Abundant Life Center. The immediate family will attend the simultaneous Inurnment of both Evelyn and Lyle Wahlert at Monrovia Cemetery, Monrovia, Kansas. She graduated from R-5 High School in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Kathy enjoyed the outdoors, animals, bingo and other games, traveling, she loved Germany, Paris and Georgia. She enjoyed conversations with other people and spending time with her family. Kathy was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She supported her husband as a military wife.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashley Durham; father, Richard Edelen; and brother, Eric Edelen.

Norma J. Clark 85, of Omaha, NE passed away Thursday April 30, 2020 in a Kansas City health care center. 

She was born January 5, 1935 in St. Joseph, Missouri daughter of the late Jeanette &amp; Clarence "Mike" Singleton. She attended Benton High School and graduated from Gower High School in 1952. She was co-owner of the DC Cattle Company with her husband. Norma enjoyed playing the organ, loved college football, and the Mizzou Tigers. She was a member of the Christ Community Church Omaha, NE. 

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband J. Donald Clark, brother, Roger Singleton, and step son Nick Clark. 

Survivors include: daughter, Cheryl Smith, Melissa, TX, step daughter, Kathy (Frank) Lewis, Plattsburg, MO, grandchildren: Nicole Smith, Carmen (Drew) Smith, Amanda, Tyler (Lacey, and K.C. St. Joseph, Missouri&nbsp;&nbsp; Russell “Rusty”D. Kendall, 56, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in St. Joseph, Missouri, following a brief illness.

He was born November 14, 1963 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Russell and Deanna Kendall.

He graduated from Wathena High School and attended Missouri Western. He sold insurance and worked as a lineman apprentice for a short time. He was a very private person who lived a simple life. He loved watching movies and listening to music.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Deanna Kendall, father, Russell Kendall and nephew, Colin Johnston.

Survivors include his two sisters, Kim (Jim) Kline, Wathena and Pam (Rick) Richter, Savannah. Nephew, Connor Kline and niece Charlee Kline as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Due to the Pandemic there won’t be a service. Rusty wishes for his inurnment to be at the Bellemont Cemetery alongside his parents. The family will have a private gathering at a later date.

Seth L. Howard, 11, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, April 27, 2020.

Seth’s favorite thing was to listen to the Troll’s Movie, which his mom played throughout the day.

He enjoyed playing with all his musical toys and being outside.

Seth was the sweetest, most beautiful little boy and will always be in the hearts of his family, friends and caregivers that were fortunate to be a part of his life. He was blessed with a mother that lived to give him the very best.

Seth was preceded in death by his great-great-grandfather, Bob McAsey.

He is survived by his loving and devoted mom, Shalee Joswick, who cared for his special needs each and every day; his loving grandparents, Shannon and Sandy Martin; great-grandparents, Jim and Shari Edelman; great-great-grandmother, Jerri McAsey; uncle, Tony Thompson (Ayala); cousin, Remy, and many close friends.

LaVerne was born November 11, 1917 in Morgan County, MO, the daughter of John and Minnie (Koch) Witte. She was a homemaker for most of her life. LaVerne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and she was an excellent cook and enjoyed making quilts, sewing and crafts.

LaVerne married William F. Magers on November 12, 1938 in Winthrop, MO; he preceded her in death on April 8, 1991. Survivors include a son Bill and Marsha Magers, Creston, IA, a daughter, Patricia Shanes, Aurora, NE, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, a sister in law Sarah Witte.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Leonard, Edward and Albert Witte, two sisters, Leota Boatright, Opal Davis and a son in law Vyck Shanes

Philip E. Sarver, 49, North Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.

He was born January 25, 1971 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Philip was a 1989 graduate of Central High School. He attended Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western State University.

He loved sports and played baseball and football in high school and also for American Legion and church teams.

Philip enjoyed fishing, golfing, and his hobby was building radio-controlled trucks. He was a Christian.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Merrill and Lydia Sarver; maternal grandparents, Wilson and Ruby Talmadge.

Survivors include his daughter, Lydia Sarver; son, Jackson Sarver; fiancé, Edie Crawford; Edie’s son, Andrew Crawford; parents, Timothy and Lynna (Talmadge) Sarver; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
