Robert "Bob" Evans, 59, of Saint Joseph, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. 

He was born February 8, 1961 in St. Joseph, son of Nancy and Robert Evans. He attended Helen Davis School. Bob's hobbies included fishing, the K.C. Chiefs, tailgating at Royals games and was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed his shopping trips to thrift stores and Cabelas. Bob loved his family and always had a hug to offer. He was active with the Special Olympics having earned numerous medals and enjoyed participating in the Chili Cookoff. He was of the Catholic faith. 

Robert was preceded in death by mother, Nancy Evans and brother, Allen Evans. 

Survivors include, father, Robert Evans, sisters, Laura (Donnie Jr.) Evans Ellis of Junction City, KS, Anita Evans Carroll of Albany, MO, Carrie Steeby of Saint Joseph, several nieces and nephews, 1 great niece and 1 great nephew.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, November 30, 2020 at Rupp Funeral Home, Father Stephen Hansen officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Louie Howard Jason Springs, 83, of St Joseph, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. 

He was born July 18, 1937 in St. Joseph, MO, son of Dorthy and Louie Springs. Louie owned and operated Springs Auto Salvage for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, riding and working on bikes with grandkids. Louie also loved tinkering with things. Louie was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. 

Survivors include, wife, Violet Springs, 9 step children and many grandchildren and extended family.

John R. Byous, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

He was born April 7, 1942 in Cosby, Missouri to Alby and Dorothy (Miller) Byous. John married Sandra Brock July 20, 1963. She preceded him in death February 16, 2017. He was a member of Bethel Church Cosby, Missouri, and Helena Lions Club. John graduated from Savannah High School in 1960. He drove a milk truck from 1957 to 1996. John then went to work at AGP driving a tanker truck retiring in 2007. He enjoyed playing and coaching fast pitch softball and spending time with his family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois Barnes, Wilma Hayward; brothers, Lloyd and Glen Byous.

Survivors include daughter, Tracie Garrett (Pat); son, Troy Byous (Patty); grandchildren, Johnna Wallingford (Cody), Brock Garrett, Alec and Drew Byous; great-grandsons, Garrett and Clay Wallingford.

She was born March 16, 1936 to George and Gladys (Reavis) Fleck. Gladys married Clarence Meers on April 21, 1986. She was a cook for Montgomery Wards and Helen Davis School, Gladys was also a seamstress for HD Lee; she later became a homemaker. Gladys was very outgoing and witty. She enjoyed gathering with family, cooking, caring for animals, and advocating for her daughter, Tina and others with special needs.

Craig A. Duffy, 66, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020.The son of James and Evelyn (Koegel) Duffy, Craig was born January 18, 1954. Craig was a well-known guitarist and songwriter for several local bands. He had a deep love for his Christian faith and was an ordained minister who also was a sponsor for AA and a life counselor for many people. Craig enjoyed carp fishing and playing chess. He also was known for his sarcastic sense of humor, and his great love for his dog, Kissy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Michaela Duffy.

Barbara (Benning) Ranner, 84, of St. Joseph passed away on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, in St. Joseph, at her home. 

She was born July 30, 1936, in Maryville, Missouri, to Norwood “Bud” and Helen (Luther) Benning. Barbara graduated from Maryville High School, and attended Northwest Missouri State University, where she completed both Bachelor of Education, and Masters of Education in Administration degrees. She began her teaching career at colleges in Marshalltown, Iowa, and St. Cloud University in Minnesota. She married Aaron J. Ranner on August 15, 1965, at the First Presbyterian Church in Maryville. That fall, she began teaching at Huboldt Elementary in St. Joseph. Hundreds of families took swimming lessons or life-saving courses with her through the YMCA, YWCA, or in her own pool. For over 20 years she taught at Lafayette High School, as a physical education instructor, Dean of Girls, and Vice Principal. With great pride in the students, she attended nearly every sporting, ROTC and Fine Arts event to support not only her own children, but the thousands of students who attended Lafayette, many of whom still call her, “Mom.” For Barbara, education wasn’t a vocation, it was a calling, and she firmly believed that learning stretches far beyond a text book. Until her final breath, she bled green, strong and true.

Barbara was an active and ardent supporter of many local organizations, most notably Interserv, on whose board she served for over 30 years. She was a member and ordained elder of Westminster (later Trinity) Presbyterian Church.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron J. Ranner in 2015; parents; and brother, Norwood H. Benning, Jr. 

She is survived by her brother Robert L. Benning of The Villages, Florida; and her children Chris (Heather) Ranner, St. Charles, Missouri; Beth (Hugh) McLenaghan, St. Joseph; and Cheryl (Doug) Ramseier, Oak Ridge, Tennessee; grandchildren Jayson Ranner; Olivia Ranner; Doug (Jaime) Ramseier and great-grandaughter Kaelynn; Justin (Stephanie) Ramseier and great-grandson Lyle; Christopher Ramseier; as well as beloved nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends and sisters Marylou Benning and Rosemary (Posie) Benning.

The family wishes to express profound gratitude to the Freudenthal Hospice care team, for not only the friendship, love, and respect they showed our mother, but also for always arriving with a sparkle in their eye, prepared to match wits with our spunky momma. Helen M. Hug, 97, died Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.

She was born February 8, 1923 at Denison, the daughter of Charles and Jesse Snair McCrory. She graduated from Denison High School. After high school Helen received Normal Training and taught at different county schools.

Helen was a member of Reformed Presbyterian Church in Denison. She played a variety of instruments including the piano, harmonica and accordion. She loved to sings the Psalms from the Bible. Helen was also an accomplished seamstress.

She married Truman E. Hug on August 18, 1945 at Denison. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2015.

Helen was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Theo Hamer, a brother, Melvin McCrory and two sisters, Kathryn Copeland and Leola Porter.

Survivors include a son, Darrell Hug (Ellen), Mayetta, two daughters, Phyllis Phillips (Ralph), Mayetta and Yvonne Hamer, Denison, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be at the Denison Cemetery. Helen will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27th, and from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Helen M. Hug  1923 - 2020

Frank D. Thomas, 76, died on November 22, 2020. 

He was well known in the community and the state as a choral director, singer, and teacher.

Frank was born in Dodge City, Kansas, on July 29, 1944, the eldest child of Frank G. Thomas and Rachel (Unruh) Thomas. He grew up in Henderson, Nebraska, where his father was a pastor. They were a singing family, and choral music became Frank’s lifelong passion.

Frank met his wife Jacqueline (Jackie) at Wichita State University, where both majored in Music Education. They married in 1967, and began teaching in Caney, Kansas. Frank returned to earn a Master’s in Music at WSU and continued his education at UMKC.

In 1971, Frank was hired by Missouri Western State College (now MWSU) as Director of Choral Studies, a position he held for 38 years until his retirement. He also founded the Saint Joseph Community Chorus in 1980 and directed it for many years. He continued to be active as a singer after retiring from conducting in 2015. Under his leadership, the group grew to over 90 members. The chorus and/or the Chamber Singers made several singing trips to Europe and toured in Missouri for the Missouri Arts Association. They made multiple appearances on invitation at meetings of Missouri state music associations.

Frank directed choirs at Westminster Presbyterian Church and Ashland Avenue United Methodist Church, and sang in the choir at First Presbyterian Church. He was the cantorial singer at Temple Adath Joseph for 45 years. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian and then First Presbyterian churches. He was active in professional music and music education organizations and won many state and local awards for his work. His greatest joy was seeing his students become successful musicians and teachers. Many of his students now teach in Missouri and in the four-state area.

Though his life was music, he had other passions. He was a loving and active family man and father to his three children, James (Cara) Thomas, Rachel (Matt) Morgan, and Anne (Jay Erickson) Thomas; and doted on his grandchildren Lucas, Anna, Heidi, Çalvin, Reese, Ethan, Zoe, Calvin, Kayla, and Hannah. He also enjoyed biking (he rode across the state of Iowa in the annual RAGBRAI festival and to Henderson, Nebraska, with his son James). Other hobbies were vegetable gardening (he gave lots of produce to the InterServ Calvin Center and shared it at church) and camping and traveling with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, 3 children, and ten grandchildren. There will be a memorial service at a later date when it is safe to sing! Kevin Tedlock, 63, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020.

He was born March 10, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri. Kevin married Mitzi Tedlock and from that union 2 sons were born. They later divorced. Kevin married Teresa Hogan-Arnold June 29, 2002 and he later adopted her daughter, Angela in 2007. He was an active member of Word of Life Church. Kevin was principal at Lindbergh and Hyde Elementary Schools. He retired from Pickett Elementary School after 30 years in the education field. Kevin enjoyed gardening, landscaping, hunting, fishing, and restoring old trucks. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Virginia (Richardson) Tedlock.

Survivors include wife, Teresa; children, Jacob Tedlock, Ethan Tedlock (Chelsea) and Angela Arnold; grandchildren, Lilliana Wilson, Alden and Mona Tedlock; special cousin, Debbie Craig (Danny); numerous other cousins and extended family.

&nbsp; Douglas Crisp 47, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 in St. Joseph.

Frank Marion King, Jr., &nbsp;of rural Hiawatha. Kansas, also affectionately known by his nickname “Doodle”, was born on June 12, 1929, and passed away at his home on November 17, 2020, at the age of 91.

Frank Marion "Doodle" King, Jr.  1929 - 2020

Did ya heard about that ole guy in Northeast Kansas? What I mean is, he was a big teller of stories. And jokes. Mostly stories that turned out to be jokes. Now, he was never one to talk too much about himself. But here, we honor the story of&nbsp;his&nbsp;life.&nbsp;

William (Bill) Walter Howard believed in the good, lived a good life, and was one of the good. He recently shared with his family “All good things must come to an end.” He passed away at his home November 19, 2020 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 78 years young.

Bill was born July 10, 1942 to William and Charlotte Howard. Growing up west of Hiawatha on the family farm provided a work ethic and life skills he always carried with him. Bill took seriously his job of looking out for his younger brother, Donnie. As time went on, Donnie got the chance to do the same for him. Three days after his 18th&nbsp;birthday he registered and joined the US National Guard. After three months, he returned home to support the family farm due to the sudden loss of his father. He continued farming most of his life.

In 1976 he found himself with repeated reasons to visit the Brown County Animal Clinic so he could spend more time with the new Vet Tech in town. Three months after meeting, he asked Bonnie Garwood to marry him. They were married in Atkinson, NE and celebrated at the Garwood Ranch on August 7, 1976.

Tractor time was spent practicing auctioning, leading to the development of Howard Auction Service. However, on Saturdays Bill was more than just an auctioneer. He became an entertainer. With a spark in his blue eyes, a mischievous grin, and the ability to make an entire crowd laugh with his witty remarks, he loved the challenge of selling new things to old friends and old things to new friends, serving families, and working with Bonnie and an incredible auction crew for over 35 years. In time he began selling all kinds of real estate with King Reality. He thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of wearing a suit, serving Janice’s cinnamon rolls and selling farmland.

His biggest joy arrived in 1979–his daughter, Belinda. Together they conquered any obstacle as a team. You could find them disguised in Halloween Parades, bantering at an auction to provide an extra smile or sharing a look that told 1000 stories. When she married Janvier in 2015, Bill gained a son, of whom he became so proud of.

And then in 2016, Bill stepped into his favorite role of all. He became “Grandpa” to Zander William.&nbsp; Ezekiel (Zeke-o as Grandpa called him) joined the team in 2017. They became his pride and joy and he was quick to share a story about them to anyone who would listen. They adored Grandpa and the feeling was beyond mutual. Azalee joined the family on October 7th, 2020 and Grandpa was grateful to welcome her home and spent several hours rocking his favorite granddaughter.

Bill was full of ambition and also had no desire to travel beyond the Fairview city limits. His love of his family landed him a passport and he found himself exploring more parts of the world than he ever imagined or needed! He was always ready to return home and get back to work. He claims he had two careers he “dearly loved” which were farming and Howard Auction Service, however we all know he had many more side gigs. He spent several years driving semi-trucks for King Trucking and moving furniture for Rieger Van Lines. He spent over 10 years of Thursday night’s working at the Hiawatha Sale Barn and endless days flipping Junk into Merchandise. He had a deep gift for seeing potential.

He led life with his huge heart and was diligent in cheering people on and meeting them where they were at. He was a generous man and always on the lookout for how to share his knack of hospitality. He didn’t know a stranger and was known to share an outrageous story or joke with anyone he met. He was a dreamer and always ideating new ways of doing things. He had a steel-vault memory, an incredible green thumb for a thriving garden and he made a mean batch of no-bake cookies. He loved animals and collecting collectibles. He was quick to acknowledge “the Good Lord” was always looking after us.

Bill would humbly acknowledge he had a good life, but those he leaves behind would say it was a grand life—and he leaves a grand legacy.&nbsp; “Well done good and faithful servant.”

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.&nbsp;

He is survived by his wife Bonnie and children Belinda (Janvier) Bassene. He passed on his love to each of his adored grandchildren, Zander, Zeke and Azalee.

He is also survived by his siblings Don (Mary) Howard, Sharon (Steve) Thompson, Linda Garwood, Dennis (Sandra) Garwood, Diane (Warren) Hull, Arden (Lynn) Garwood and Trudie (Alan) Van Horn and a bucket full of nieces and nephews along with his mother-in-law Maxine Garwood.

On Tuesday, November 24th&nbsp;the immediate family will be gathering at the funeral home for a ceremony celebrating Bill’s life at 10 AM.&nbsp;The service can be viewed on the Chapel Oaks Hiawatha &amp; Highland Ks Facebook page.&nbsp;In addition, an Open House will be available to the community at the funeral home from 1-6 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the funeral home to be designated later by the family.

Corrine Lei Smith went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 21, 2020.&nbsp; She was born in Reno, NV, June 17, 1993.&nbsp; She was 27 years old.

Corrine loved life.&nbsp; Being around family and friends brought her most joy.&nbsp; She had a smile that lit up whatever room she was in and a soulful contagious laugh.&nbsp; She was at her best when she was simply enjoying and playing with her boys Oakley and Chance. &nbsp;

She was a former shift manager at Taco John's in the East Hills Mall and graduated from Central High School.

Preceding her in death were her father Neil, aunt Leila, and grandmother V.J. Sale.

Survivors include her sons Oakley Ray and Chance Michael; mother Rhonda Sale-Evans; sister Serina Smith; three brothers Brandon Sale (Christy), Anthony Smith (Cindy), Zachary Smith; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Corrine had many, many friends and helped anyone who needed it.&nbsp; She left a void when she was tragically taken to soon.&nbsp; She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.&nbsp; She touched so many lives the short time we were blessed to have her.

June A. Haer, 91 of Mound City, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 20, 2020. Her physical afflictions might think they've won the battle but we are giving God the glory for calling our mother home in His perfect timing.

June was born March 3, 1929, in Craig, Missouri, to the late John &amp; Frances (Pflaumer) Smith. She married her husband, Kenneth Lee Haer on June 19, 1950 in Oregon, Missouri. He precedes her in death.

Also, preceding her in death is her brothers, Johnnie Lee and Jim Smith; granddaughter, Dara Davis; and great-granddaughters, Korah and Paizley Haer.

Survivors include children, Peggie (Denny) Davis of Bella Vista, AR, Steven (Ruth) Haer of Savannah, MO, Ronnie (Pam) Haer of Craig, MO, Linda (Allen) Nauman of Craig, MO, and Eddie (Shelly) Haer of Bellevue, NE; sisters, Carolyn Bunt of Claremore, OK, and Sue Caton of St. Joseph, MO; 31 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

June was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 164, Story-Hardin Post 164 in Craig, Missouri, and a 4-H Leader. She was a devoted member to St. Peters Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for several years and a member of the Ladies Aid.

She loved to quilt and sew. She made many quilts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Monday November 23, 2020 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. Graveside service at 3:00 PM Monday, at Craig I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Craig, MO.

Jeremi “J” Kroos, 51, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 20, 2020.

He was born July 9, 1969 in Sedalia, Missouri to Junior and Jeani (Kearns) Kroos. J was a free spirit with a kind soul, who lived life to the fullest and loved to laugh. He enjoyed painting, going for ‘walks’ in his wheelchair, and listening to music. J loved to go places and people watch. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Kroos.

Survivors include his parents, sister, Shelbi Force (Steve); nieces, Shaya and Michaela Force; nephew, Matthew Force; 1 aunt; 2 uncles; a wonderful friend that also had his heart, Largo; several extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend their heart-felt thanks to the special care givers for all they did for J over the years.

Jeremi “J” Kroos, 51, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 20, 2020. He was born July 9, 1969 in Sedalia, Missouri to Junior and Jeani (Kearns) Kroos. J was a free spirit with a kind soul, who lived life to the fullest and loved to laugh. He enjoyed painting, going for ‘walks’ in his wheelchair, and listening to music. J loved to go places and people watch. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Kroos. Amiya Haylee Briscoe, 14, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020.

She was born August 21, 2006 to Bryan Briscoe and Christi Martin. Amiya was an amazing artist. She loved music, dancing and was the TikTok queen. Amiya was very trendy and was always up to date on the latest shoe fashion. She was very outgoing, beautiful, caring, funny and unique. Amiya will be so missed by her family and all those that were blessed to have known her.

Amiya was preceded in death by her grandmother, Christine Martin, grandfather, James Nunley, and great-grandparents, Granny and Papa Briscoe.

Sharon Jane (Betts) Agee 75, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care hospital. 

She was born December 13, 1944 in Atchison, KS, daughter of the late Regina and Jesse Betts. Sharon worked 33 years at Mead Products in the envelope department until its closing in 2004. She then obtained her high school diploma from Lafayette High School, after completing the Graduation Recovery Program in 2005. She retired from Nestle Purina in 2011. Sharon enjoyed cooking and baking for others, making holidays and birthdays special for everyone, loved gift giving, and spending time with her loved ones. 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norman, brothers, Bob, Richard, Walter, Harold, and Kenneth, sisters: Barbara Freeman, Carol Lawrence, and Joan Drimmel. 

Survivors include: daughter, Trolena Underwood (Curt Claycomb), Saint Joseph, MO, granddaughters, Nollee (Kyle) Luke and Tinsley (Nick) Krueger, great granddaughter, Averley Luke, sisters, Teresa Ernzen, Darlene O'Neal, and Doris Holloway, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, who she considered as her own grandchildren. 

Funeral services: 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Leanna VanZandt-Nauman officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 12 - 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Mount Auburn Cemetery. Lettie Joann DeRoin, 92, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at Riverside Care Center in St. Joseph. 

She was born January 14, 1928 in Hiawatha, Kansas, daughter of Wayne and Teresa "Tress" Hazlett. She married James L. DeRoin on October 31, 1946, and they shared 68 years together. Joann and her husband owned and operated Hazlett Painting Company, DeRoin Construction, and Jim &amp; Jo's Hyliner Bar. Joann loved her family very much, dedicating her life to making a home where they knew they were always welcome. She was an avid pet lover, adopting many pets through the years, but her favorites were her little dogs.

Joann was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Richard DeRoin, brother, LeRoy Hazlett, sister, Mary Johnson, and daughter-in-law, Carla Martens. 

She is survived by two sons, Jim (Karon) DeRoin of White Cloud, KS and Phillip DeRoin of Elwood, KS, daughter-in-law, Bobbi DeRoin of St. Joseph, six grandchildren, Toni (Kevin) Peterson, Chad (Anne) DeRoin, Robbie (Brian) DeRoin-O'Connell, Brie (John) Phillips, Randi DeRoin, and Dakota Murphy, 14 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. 

She has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Graveside Memorial Service and Inurnment will be held at a later date at White Cloud Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Friends of the Animal Shelter.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Bradley Allen Ewart, 71, of St. Joseph, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at his home. 

He was born October 10, 1949 in Leavenworth, KS. He graduated from East High School in Independence, MO class of 1967, and later the University of Texas with a Bachelor Degree in Business. He married Suzanne Fieth on October 3, 1984. Bradley was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the US Marine Corps. Bradley worked several jobs, and he retired as a Hospital Chaplain in the KC area. He loved animals, feeding birds, and collecting antiques, and he was a member of the VFW. 

Bradley was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Troy and Janet Ewart, uncle, Alvin Earl Ewart, his bulldog, Clyde, and several other four-legged kids. 

Survivors include, wife, Suzanne Ewart of the home, aunt, Dora Ewart of St. Joseph and her children, his cats, Callie, Harry, Gracie, and Sassy, and several cousins.

Mr. Ewart has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Friends of the Animal Shelter- St. Joseph.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Hylan Jerome Hiatt 84, of Saint Joseph, MO passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care hospital. 

He was born October 13, 1936 in DeKalb, MO, son of the late Haskel and Rosie(Morris) Hiatt. He graduated from DeKalb High School, and he married his beloved Patricia Ridgeway on December 27, 1959 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and they would have been married 61 years. He started his working career with his dad, who owned and operated the Phillips 66 in DeKalb, MO. He also worked at Lucas Cadillac for many years, as well as Continental Can. Hylan was expert in detailing cars and a favorite among the locals. Hylan was a fun loving caring and generous person with a great sense of humor who enjoyed giving gifts and helping anyone in need. He loved having his family around especially during the holidays. He was an avid classic car enthusiast and collector. 

The family would like to thank Ed &amp; Janice Blair for their love and support. 

Hylan was preceded in death by his son, Hylan Jeffrey Hiatt on May 4, 2020, his parents, a brother, Monte Hiatt, and brother in law, Billy Ray.

She had worked as a customer service manager at the Methodist Hospital, Marcus Service Station, CVS and Ray’s Auto Barn. Carol enjoyed traveling and going to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband; sisters-in-law, Betty Fanning and Dorothy Legg; and brothers-in-law, David and Charles Limley.

Ronald P. McCulloch 75 of Plattsburg Missouri died Wednesday Nov. 18, 2020 at a Kansas City Missouri Hospital. Born on April 22, 1945 in St Joseph Missouri to Paul A. and Vida M. (Powell) McCulloch. 

Ron was a 1963 graduate of Plattsburg High School. He worked as a mechanic and was a member of the Chaparels Car Club of Plattsburg. He was a member of the Stony Point Church and Stony Point Church Cemetery Board member. On Nov.30, 1968 he married Beverly Bannister, they were married almost 52 years. 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and son Travis McCulloch.

Survivors include his wife Beverly of the home; daughter Holly Schmitz and husband Brian of Kingsville Missouri; Cody McCulloch and wife Lissa Noctis of Plattsburg Missouri; his Brother Jim McCulloch of Plattsburg; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Graveside service and interment will be held 1:30PM Monday Nov. 23, 2020 at the Stony Point Cemetery Trimble Missouri. Due to the pandemic there is not going to be a visitation. Olive Jean Snodderly, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri, daughter of Orville and Garnet (Campbell) Lewis was born May 4, 1926 in Guilford, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 due to Covid-19 complications.

She was a graduate of Guilford High School. Olive married Logan Snodderly December 1, 1945. To this union they welcomed a son. After they were married Logan and Olive Jean lived a short time in Maryland while Logan finished out four years in the Marine Corp. They returned to St. Joseph where they made their home.

When Olive Jean was 24 years old, she put her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. She was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church.

Olive Jean was preceded in death by her husband Logan, May 7, 2013; parents; and sister Charlotte Brown.

Survivors include son, Doug Snodderly (Linda), St. Joseph; grandson, Buzz Snodderly (Linda), Thornton, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Logan Daniel, Hunter Lee, and Allie Jean Snodderly, Thornton, Colorado; step-grandsons, Michael Cathcart (Theresa), Las Vegas, Nevada, Mark Cathcart (Jenny), St. Joseph, Missouri; step-great-grandsons, Brody and Brett Cathcart; brother, Curtis Lewis; sisters, JoAnn Johnson, Karen Swan; brother-in-law, Bryce Snodderly; sister-in-law, Kathy Phillips; numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley A. Cooper, 90, formerly of Rushville, MO died on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Gower Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 23rd, 2020 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Champ officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association or the Rushville Christian Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Remembrances and condolences may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com. Shirley was born on October 13, 1930 in St. Joseph, MO the daughter of Norman and Beulah (Bush) Rathburn. She graduated from Rushville High School in 1948. Shirley was married to Archie H. “Tink” Cooper on December 13, 1950 in Rushville, MO. Devotion to family was Shirley’s primary goal in life. She enjoyed sharing in all of her daughter’s sporting and school activities. Shirley was an active member of the Rushville Christian Church. Besides church activities, other interests included sewing and cooking. Survivors include three daughters Kim ( Bill ) O’Brien, Traverse City, MI, Nancy Lorts, Farmers Branch, TX, and Tracy (Todd) Goodlet, DeKalb, MO, five grandchildren; Tom (Lexi ) O’Brien, Chris (Ashley) O’Brien, Becca (Tyler) Halbert, Brian (Kathryn) Lorts, Colton Goodlet and two great grandchildren, Cooper and Kennedy O’Brien.

Her parents, husband, and two sisters Norma Jane Rathburn and Phyllis Jean Kottman preceded her in death.&nbsp;&nbsp;
